The University of Allahabad is established on September 23, 1887.The University is the fourth oldest university in India. University of Allahabad offers the Master of Education (M.Ed) course which is of two years duration. Candidates Seeking admission in the M.Ed program should have minimum 50% marks or an equivalent grade in B.Ed from any recognized by NCTE.
There are 50 seats for M.Ed in Allahabad university. It is a 2 years (4 semester) programme. Admission to M.Ed course is done on the basis of the marks obtained by the Candidate in the University Entrance Examination. The Seats will be reserved for the candidates who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC), the Scheduled Tribes(ST) and OBC.
Reservation for Physically Challenged Candidates: Candidates, who have a certified disability of not less than 40% in limb/orthopedic & physical disability of not more than 70% or a certified blind, may be admitted to the concerned course after the recommendation of Medical Board. 5% of the total seats are reserved for such students.
Selection of students will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination, conducted by the university.The admission test will be of 150 multiple choice type questions and each question will be carrying one mark. The time duration of test will be 2 hours.The questions will test the candidates in the following areas:
