Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya (CGKV) M.V.Sc/M.Sc & Ph.D Admission 2020: Courses, Application Form, Eligibility

Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya (CGKV) is a state university established on the April 11th, 2012 under the Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya Act, 2011. It is recognized by UGC. The university has 3 constituent colleges which are College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry located at Anjora in Durg, College of Dairy Science and Food Technology located at Raipur and a College of Fisheries located at Kawardha. The University makes provision for the development of human resources by imparting education in the domain of veterinary and Animal Sciences. CGKV offers admission to following programs for the year:

  • Master  of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.)
  • Master of Science (Dairying)
  • Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy)

Candidates with the relevant qualification degrees can register for the above-mentioned programmes. Reservation rules applicable for to SC, ST, and OBC, female, physically handicapped, freedom fighter and other category candidates shall be made applicable as per norms of the state government. Check CGKV Admission 2020

Candidates can register for admission by filling the online application form and submitting the required processing fee, on or before the last date. Admission to some programmes is done on the basis of merit of the candidate in Common Entrance Test (CET).

How To Apply

The candidates can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the complete application form along with the required amount of processing fee and important documents before the last date. Candidate must log on to the university website: and follow the following steps:

  • Candidate must check and must ensure  their eligibility before applying for admission
  • Download the application form carefully with all the necessary information
  • Paste the coloured photograph at the given spot
  • Pay the application fee via demand draft drawn in favour of “Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya” payable at Raipur.
  • Send the complete application form enclosed in the envelope to the “Registrar, Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya ,Durg -491001 (CG)”
  • Candidates can collect their admit cards from the Anjora campus before the two hours of CET. No separate information will be given in this case.

The candidate should enclose the application for along with the following documents:

  • Caste/creed certificate in case the candidate belongs to the SC/ST category of Chhattisgarh.
  • Demand draft of the application fee.

  • Veterinary Public Health- 2 seats
  • Veterinary Surgery & Radiology– 3 seats
  • Veterinary Clinical Medicine, Ethics & Jurisprudence– 3 seats
  • Veterinary Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine– 2 seats
  • Animal Reproduction Gynaecology & Obstetrics– 3 seats
  • Veterinary  Parasitology– 3 seats


  • Candidate must not be below the age of 21 years as on December 31st of the admission year. 
  • Candidate should have qualified B.V.Sc degree under 10+2+5 pattern from a recognized university.
  • Candidates belonging to GEN /OBC /NRI should have obtained minimum 60% marks /equivalent grade in the qualifying degree. Relaxation of 5% marks is given to SC/ST category candidates.

Admission Process

Candidates are selected for above PG courses on the basis of the merit of the candidate in the CET conducted by the university itself.

For Ph.D. admission, candidate is selected on the basis of the merit in the CET (70% weightage) and qualifying degree (20 % to 1st class ,10% to 2nd class obtained at PG level and 10% to 1st class, 5% to 2nd class obtained at UG level)

For SC/ST categories, marks required for admission shall be 5% less than that prescribed for general category.

The CET shall be based on the syllabus studied by the candidate in their respective compulsory subjects of UG/ PG qualifying degree


The candidates who are selected in the entrance examination are required to participate in the interview/counselling process by reporting (in person only) to the Anjura campus. Such candidates are directed to bring the application form, counselling fee and following photocopies and the originals of the documents for the purpose of verification:

  • High school certificate (age proof)
  • Mark Sheet of high school
  • Intermediate marks sheet and certificate
  • UG marks sheet and certificate
  • PG marks sheet and certificate
  • NOC in case of employed candidate
  • Caste and creed certificate– if required
  • Character Certificate from the Dean/Head/Principal of the University/Institution last attended. 
  • Migration Certificate from the competent authority of the University/Institution last attended
