Lucknow University MBA Admission 2020: Entrance Exam, Dates, Result

Lucknow University offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses including Master of Business Administration (MBA) which is offered through regular and self-financed mode in multiple specializations. The following specializations are offered by the university under self-financed MBA programme:

  • Marketing – 120 seats
  • Finance & Control – 120 seats
  • HR & IR – 120 seats
  • International Business – 60 seats

In addition to the MBA programme, the university also offers Master of Travel and Tourism Administration (MTTM), a two-year (60 seats) full-time programme offered by the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS).

University of Lucknow has commenced registration process for admission to the 2-year MBA programme and the last date to submit duly filled-in applications. The tentative date of the university entrance test (LUMET).

Candidates are shortlisted for MBA course on the basis of marks scored in the national level entrance test i.e. CAT or the university entrance test, popularly known as Lucknow University Management Entrance Test (LUMET). All the candidates who clear the entrance test, either CAT or LUMET, must appear for the interview round conducted by the University.

Those interested can register themselves from the MBA admission portal of Lucknow University available on the official website. Candidates should fill the application form with all the relevant details and submit it upon completion along with the prescribed application fee through online mode.

How To Apply

Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme can fill and submit the application through online mode via the official university website. Students should follow the below-given steps in order to register successfully for Lucknow University MBA Admission:

  1. Candidates should register themselves through the online admission portal.
  2. The applicants will receive their login credentials on the mobile number and email ID
  3. Then, candidates will be asked to enter their personal details and educational qualifications
  4. Candidates will be asked to select the admission mode: 
    Applicants can either opt for CAT or LUMET for admission to MBA course (Applicants with a valid CAT score can appear for LUMET too)
  5. Then, applicants have to select the test centers in order of preference
  6. Next, candidates will be asked to upload their scanned photo and signature.
  7. Preview all the entries made at this point.
  8. Proceed for payment of the application fees.

Form fees can be submitted by any of the following ways – Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking

Application fee:

For General and OBC candidates – INR 2000/- (3000/- for late fees)

For SC and ST candidates – INR 1000/- (2000/- for late fees)

Finally, applicants can print their completed application form and fee receipt to complete the application process.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized university.
  • They must have cleared the 10+2+3 education pattern.
  • The candidates must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks at the graduate level.
  • However, for SC/ST candidates, the minimum required pass percentage of marks at the graduate level will be 45%.

Reservation Process

As per the university guidelines, only the Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes candidates originally belonging to Uttar Pradesh will be given the benefit of reservation. Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes candidates of other states will be treated as general.

Admission Process

Candidates will be shortlisted to the MBA programme through a National/ International level aptitude test which may consist of both written as well as oral components.

Generally, the admissions to the MBA course would be carried out through the Lucknow University Management Entrance Test (LUMET), followed by a personal interview round. The tentative date of entrance test: 1st June 2020.

Candidates having a valid CAT score can opt to take admission through it or choose to appear for the university entrance test known as LUMET. 

The written component (CAT or LUMET) will account for a merit score of 100 while the interview will account for a merit score of 20. The overall merit would be calculated out of a merit score of 120.

All candidates who have either opted admission through CAT score or through LUMET will have to appear in the interview conducted by the University.

Note: Candidates who have a valid CAT can opt not to appear in the LUMET. Their merit would be calculated on the basis of their CAT scores. However, they will have to appear in the personal interview.

Exam Pattern for LUMET 2020

LUMET will have 100 questions that have to be answered in 90 min. Question will be asked from areas like General Awareness, Logical Reasoning, Numerical Ability, Data Interpretation, and English Verbal Ability. 

Marking Scheme

  • Each correct answer will give you 4 marks.
  • For every incorrect answer, there will be a deduction of 1 mark.
  • No marks will be awarded for an unattempted question.

LUMET will be conducted at Lucknow only.

An overall combined merit list of all candidates who appeared for the exam/personal interview will be available in the concerned Departments and on the University website.
