Delhi University (DU) UG Admission 2019: Application form, Application Process, Result

Delhi University (DU) offers specialized undergraduate courses in Arts (B.A.), Commerce (B.COM) and Science (B.SC) through its 82 affiliated colleges.

Application form for the admission usually releases in month of May/June. This year admission process will start from May 30, 2019.

UG courses application can only be made online through the official website. Application fee for General/OBC candidates is INR 250/- whereas for SC/ST/PwD/EWS it is INR 100/-. For sports/ECA quota, additional fees of INR 100/- is applied.

Admission in UG courses is based on Merit. For this, cut off lists are released by University colleges. Combination of ‘Best of 4 subjects’ marks are included for merit calculation. First cut off list will be released on June 20, 2019.Check DU Admission 2019

Eligibility Criteria for B.A/B.Sc & B.Com Courses

BA

Age Requirement:

There is no specific age criteria defined by the University for Admission to Under-Graduate courses.

BA (Vocational):

  • At least 40% marks in 10+2 CBSE or equivalent.
  • 1 language and 3 elective subjects are considered for merit list. 

BA Honors (French, German, Italian, Spanish):

  • At least 45% marks in 10+2 CBSE or equivalent.
  • 1 language and 3 elective subjects are considered for merit list. 

B.A Honors (Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Persian, Punjabi, Urdu, Sanskrit):

  • At least 40% marks in 10+2 CBSE or equivalent.
  • 45% marks in english or any of the language.
  • 1 language and 3 elective subjects are considered for merit list. 

B.Com

B.Com (Hons)

At least 60% in 10+2 CBSE or equivalentwith 50% or more in Mathematics/Business Mathematics

B.Com

At least 60% in 10+2 CBSE or equivalent

Note: 

  • In both courses, 1 language and 3 elective subjects will be considered. 
  • Electives are Mathematics, Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies/Commerce

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Statistics)

  • At least 60% in 10+2 CBSE or equivalent with 60% or more in Mathematics
  • Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks in Mathematics, one language & two best elective subjects collectively.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Botany) , Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Zoology) & Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Microbiology)

  • At least 60% marks (Physic, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry) at 10+2.
  • Minimum 50% in English is also required.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Physics) , Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Chemistry) & Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Electronics)

  • At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 (CBSE or equivalent).
  • Minimum 50% marks in English is also required.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Geology)

  • Passed 10+2 with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Geology/Biology/Biotechnology/Geography.
  • Minimum 50% marks in the English is also required.


How to Apply for B.A/B.Sc & B.Com Courses

BA & B.Sc

Step-1: Online Registration

  1. Visit the official website of Delhi University.
  2. Now, click on “Undergraduate Admissions” section.
  3. Then, click on “UG Admission Portal – Click here”.
  4. Now, click on the link “New Registration”
  5. Create a new account by filling your basic details such as Name, Email ID, Password, Mobile Number, etc.
  6. After filling all details, click on “Register” button.
  7. A page will open with the user registration details. Candidates should click on the link “Click here to save this information for future references”.
  8. An email will be sent to the registered email to confirm the online registration.
  9. Click on the link received in the Email ID and confirm your account.

Step-2: Fill Details

  1. A new login page will appear on the screen.
  2. Enter your Email and Password and click on the login button.
  3. Read the instructions & click on “Continue” button.
  4. The application form will appear on the screen.
  5. Applicants are required to fill details in the application such as:
  • Personal: Name, Gender, Minority, Category, family details etc.
  • Bank Details: For refund in case of admission cancellation.
  • Academic Details: Enter paper wise marks of 12th examination.
  • Select the merit based and entrance-based courses.
  • Apply for Sports quota and ECA if you wish too with additional INR 100/- fees.
  1. Click on submit button.

Step-3: Upload Images

  1. Upload the scanned images of:
  • Passport size photograph (Size: 10 KB to 50 KB),
  • Signature (Size: 10 KB to 50 KB)
  • 10th class certificate (Size: 100 KB to 500 KB)
  1. The images should be in JPG/JPEG format.
  2. After uploading all the images, click on “Next” button.

Step-4: Fee Payment

  1. The application fee is INR 250/- for General & OBC and INR 100/- for SC/ST & PwD candidates.
  2. Fee payment can be made using debit/credit card or net banking.
  3. Go through the “Make fee payment” option.
  4. Select the payment mode.
  5. Fill the payment details and make payment.

Step-5: Download & Print Application

  1. Click on “Print Form” option.
  2. Take the printout of the submitted application form and keep it safe for further use.

Note:

  • All colleges except St. Stephen’s College and Jesus and Mary College follow the same procedure for admission.
  • For St. Stephen’s and Jesus & Mary College, Candidate needs to register separately after applying to DU official website.


Admission Process for B.A/B.Sc & B.Com Courses

BA & B.Sc

How to take admission once cut off requirements are met?

  1. Login to Dashbaord. Select the college and course.
  2. Take the print out of the form.
  3. Visit the college with the all relevant documents within three days of cut off declaration. If one fails this, he will not be eligible for admission.
  4. The marks and documents of the students will be verified by the official(s). After that, an admission slip will be handed over to the student.
  5. An online payment link will be generated within few hours. Submit the college fee through that portal within 48 hours.
  6. Post Fee submission, a payment acknowledgement slip will be generated which ensures candidate’s admission.

How to change the college after admission in one:

  1. Submit a cancelation application to the college in which you have taken admission.
  2. Fill cancellation form.
  3. Collect your original documents that you have submitted in that college.
  4. Login to your dashboard.
  5. Apply for the college and course.
  6. Take the print out of the form.
  7. Visit the college with all the required documents.
  8. Follow the admission formalities and pay the fees.
  9. Online paid fees will be adjusted automatically.

Admission Process for Foreign Students:

Delhi University has appointed the ‘Foreign Students Advisor’ to handle all the queries of foreign students related to their admission.

Hi Arushi, DU doesn't offer BA (General) course as they offered an integrated course BA with History & Mathematics and also BA with Pol. Science & Mathematics. The last date of admission is 14th July 2019.

Hi Urvashi, yes, the university offers this course. However, admission to this course is done on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the university whose pattern is as follows:

  • Bilingual Language Comprehension Multiple Choice English and Hindi - 40
  • Subject Knowledge (Mathematics up to Class X) Multiple Choice English or Hindi - 20
  • Subject Knowledge(Science up to Class X)Multiple Choice English or Hindi - 20

Hi Ayang, you will first have to register yourself at the official website of the university. After that, you will have to wait for the first cut off to be released by the authority. Then, you will get to know in which college you are eligible for your concerned course. Visit that college personally with documents required and your admission will be thus granted.

Hi Vipula, students are granted admission in DU on the basis of merit list released by the university. Thus, after the university releases its cut-off, you will get to know in which colleges you are eligible for admission.

Hi Deepak, online registration for all UG and PG courses will start from May 20, 2019. The university will declare the cut off for all the courses in all affiliated college of DU. It would be advisable if you wait until the first cut off and then see in which college she can get her preferred course.
