IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) offers about 228 certificate, diploma, degree and doctoral programs. At UG level the University also offers B.Sc in Post Basic Nursing. Duration of B.Sc in the Post Basic Nursing program is 3 years and has a seat intake of 650 in IGNOU Regional Centres.

OPENNET Entrance test is a pen paper-based test conducted by IGNOU. It will consist of 120 multiple choice questions (one mark each) drawn from various subjects taught in GNM. Duration of OPENNET will be two and a half hours.
Selected candidates will be called for regional counselling followed by the document verification process.

Candidates must fulfill educational qualifications for admission to Bachelor of Science in Nursing. There is no minimum or maximum age limit.
Candidate must have passed 10+2 with three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of two-year experience in the profession. or
In service Nurse having 10th class (Matriculation) or it's equivalent with 3 years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of 5-year experience in the profession.
Note: Male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM program must have a certificate in any of the nursing courses for 6-9 months, prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) in lieu of midwifery.
Age limit is not a barrier for admission to the course.
