IGNOU (Indra Gandhi National Open University), located in Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, is a National University established in 1985. The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, diploma and PhD courses in arts, science and commerce streams.
IGNOU offers M.Com. in 4 specializations i.e. M.Com. General, M.Com. Finance & Taxation, M. Com. Business Policy & Corporate Governance and M.Com. Management Accounting & Financial Strategies. The duration of IGNOU M.Com Program is 2 years (minimum) and can extend up to 5 years (maximum). Selection of the candidates is done on the basis of marks secured in the qualifying degree. Last date for submission of application form is July 31, 2017.
University provides education to all the eligible candidates irrespective of their age, region and gender by the means of open and distance learning through IGNOU Regional Centres which are spread throughout the nation.

IGNOU M.Com. 2017 Eligibility Criteria


Interested candidates must fulfill the given eligibility criteria for admission to IGNOU M.Com program
M.Com. General
Candidate must be graduated in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university
M.Com. Finance & Taxation
Candidate must be graduated in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university
M. Com. Business Policy and Corporate Governance
Graduates in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university/ institute and must have passed in Company Secretary-Ship Executive Program
M.Com. Management Accounting & Financial Strategies
Graduates in any discipline or equivalent from a recognized university/ institute and candidate must have passed in ICWAI Intermediate Course

IGNOU M.Com. 2017 Application Process


Application forms can be submitted in online mode as well as in offline mode. Detailed process for both is mentioned below

IGNOU Online Process

Candidates must visit the official website of IGNOU for online application form filling

  • Candidates must register themselves by  creating their username and password
  • Candidate’s username will be instantly sent to the registered e-mail ID and SMS.
  • Students must remember their Username and Password for subsequent login.
  • After registration, candidates must fill their personal details, educational qualification and work experience (if any).
  • Candidates must also upload scanned copy of following documents

1.Scanned Photograph and Scanned Signature (less than 100 KB in size)
2.Scanned copy of Age Proof
3.Scanned copy of relevant Educational Qualification
4.Scanned Copy of Experience Certificate (if any)
5.Scanned Copy of Category Certificate, if SC/ST/OBC
5.Scanned Copy of BPL Certificate, if Below Poverty Line
Note: scanned copy must be less than 400 KB in size

  • Fees can be paid through online mode which will include both Application fee (INR 100) as well as course fee.
  • Fees can be paid through debit card, credit card and net banking.
  • After successful fee submission, candidates can take printout of payment confirmation slip.

IGNOU Offline Process

Candidates can  purchase Student Handbook and Prospectus from the IGNOU. Regional Centre or from the nearest Study Centre of IGNOU by paying application fee of INR 200

  • Candidates can also get offline application form by sending Demand Draft (DD) of INR 250 in favor of IGNOU regional center
  • Candidates must fill all the necessary details in their application form i.e. personal details, programme details, qualification details, course details, and correspondence details correctly.
  • Before sending the duly filled-in application form to the concerned Regional Centre, candidates must have enclosed ‘Self Attested’ documents
  • Photograph (pasted on the offline application form) and other relevant documents mentioned below
    ii) Certificates in support of your educational qualification(s) i.e. semester-wise/year wise mark sheets and Provisional/Degree Certificate(s),

iii) Experience certificate wherever required
iv) Category certificate (for SC/ST/PH/OBC (non-creamy layer).
v) Age certificate.
vi) Student Card duly filled in.
vii) Acknowledgement Card duly affixed with the postage stamp.
viii) Copy of Passport, Visa, No Objection Certificate from the concerned Embassy in India and Proof of residence of candidate in India (for International Students)

  • Attached  Pay Order/Demand Draft for the Program Fee
  • Candidate must write their name, program code and application number on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.
  • Attached documentary proof (photocopy of BPL ration card), in case of below poverty line students
  • After checking all the information, the candidates can submit their form to their respective regional centers

Candidates must also submit admission fee (course fee) along with the application form and all the documents.
Note: The course fee is refundable for both offline as well as online mode
