AFMC Pune MBBS Admission 2018

AFMC Pune (Armed Forces Medical College) is one the prestigious colleges in Pune, India. It is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik and is recognized by the Medical Council of India. The college is managed by the Indian Armed Forces.

AFMC, Pune offers 130 seats for admission to MBBS program. There are 105 seats for boys and 25 seats for girls, out of total 10 seats are reserved for SC/ST category candidates. The selection is done on the basis of NEET score obtained by the candidates. Students who qualified NEET will be called to appear in the TOELR (Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning). It is a psychological assessment test cum interview.

The duration of the MBBS course is 4 years 6 month followed by compulsory rotating internship training of one year.

AFMC Pune MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria 2018

To seek admission to MBBS program, candidates must fulfill the complete eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. Foreign nationals of Indian origin may be admitted into AFMC only after they have acquired Indian Citizenship or in respect of whom the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a certificate of eligibility.
  • Aspirants must be unmarried. Marriage during the course is not permitted.
  • Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defense.
  • Candidates from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir are eligible for admission to AFMC, Pune.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age limit to apply for admission to MBBS program is 17 years as on December 31.
  • The maximum age limit to apply for admission to MBBS program is 24 years.

Qualifying Criteria

  • Applicants must score at least 60% marks in class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized university or institute.
  • Candidates who have appeared or will be appearing in qualifying examination up to 30 April may also apply.


AFMC Pune MBBS Application Procedure 2018

The registration is done in online mode only, candidates who wish to apply can submit their application form on the official website of college. Applications received after the due date will not be entertained.

Students are advised to make sure that, all the information which is mentioned on the application form must be correct and similar to the information of original documents. If any candidates found ineligible at the time of admission process, his/ her candidature will be cancelled at the very moment.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Go to the official website i.e. www.mcc.nic.in.
  2. Click on admission link and select your applied course.
  3. Register by using your email id and password
  4. Login after the confirmation of email
  5. Enter the details asked in application form
  6. Upload the signature and photograph in jpeg format
  7. Image size should not be more than 50 kb
  8. Save the application form
  9. Pay the application fee by either of the available mode
  10. Take the print out of application form for future reference.


AFMC Pune MBBS Selection Process 2018

Candidates wishing to apply for admission to MBBS program in AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College) Pune, have to qualify NEET. The selection is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in NEET.

On the basis of the NEET score and screening at AFMC, two merit lists will be prepared, one for boys and one for girls, and admissions will be offered only to these shortlisted candidates in accordance with their final position in merit list.

The remaining candidates will be on the waiting list. The result will be displayed on the website of AFMC Pune.

Candidates who are applying for admission to MBBS course in AFMC, have a compulsory serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. The offer of the type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and will be determined on merit-cooption at the final MBBS exam.

The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve in the Armed Forces Medical Services would be 7 years. Complete details of Service Liability and Bond Agreement will be given to the candidates shortlisted for the screening.

  1. NEET Admit Card
  2. NEET Score Card
  3. Original mark sheet of class 12 and graduation degree
  4. Documents in the favor of information mentioned on the application form.

Hello sir my self shubhangi dwivedi i got 166 in neet and in hsc i had 57.85 % anf i am belong from general category i am eligible for the paramedical course in afmc college?

Hi Sahiba, NEET is the only criteria to take admission in MBBS. So, you have to reappear the exam.
