IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), New Delhi, is the largest Open University in the World. The university offers a plethora of under-graduate, post-graduate, doctoral, certificate and diploma courses through open and distance learning in arts, science and commerce streams.
IGNOU provides MA (Master of Arts) in 18 specializations. Duration of MA program is 2 years (minimum) and can extend up to 5 years. Selection is on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in their qualifying degree.
IGNOU provides MA courses in 18 specializations. All the specializations are offered in both January and July sessions except Adult Education and Women’s and Gender Studies. The specializations are mentioned below

Interested candidates must follow the given eligibility criteria for admission to IGNOU MA program:
For all IGNOU MA Programs except Education, Translation Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies
Candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university for admission to the course
For IGNOU MA Education
Candidate will be admitted to the course even without any Bachelor’s degree
For IGNOU MA Translation Studies
Graduate in any discipline with adequate knowledge of Hindi and English
For IGNOU MA Women’s and Gender Studies
Students with a Bachelor’s degree with minimum 50% aggregate

For online application form submission, Candidates must visit the official IGNOU website i.e. www.ignou.ac.in . Step wise process is mentioned below:

Students are required to purchase Student Handbook and Prospectus from the IGNOU Regional Centre or from the nearest Study Centre of IGNOU
Before sending the filled-in application form to concerned Regional Centre, candidates must have enclosed ‘Self Attested’ following documents
i) Photograph (pasted) and other relevant documents mentioned below
ii) Certificates in support of your educational qualification(s) i.e. semester-wise/year wise mark sheets and Provisional/Degree Certificate(s),
iii) Experience certificate wherever required
iv) Category certificate (for SC/ST/PH/OBC (non-creamy layer).
v) Age certificate.
vi) Student Card duly filled in.
vii) Acknowledgement Card duly affixed with the postage stamp.
viii) Attached documentary proof (photocopy of BPL ration card), in case of below poverty line students
For International Candidates
i) Copy of Passport and Visa
ii) No Objection Certificate from the concerned Embassy in India
iii) Proof of residence of candidate in India
After checking all the information, the candidates can submit their form to their respective regional centers.
Note: Online candidates must submit application fee of INR 100 along with the course fee during fee submission process through online mode only. The program fee is refundable for both offline as well as online mode.
Selection of eligible candidates to MA course is done based on their 10+2 examination marks.
