Punjabi University Law Admission 2019: Entrance Exam, Result, Fees

Punjabi University is a state university established on April 30, 1962. It is one of the premier institutions of higher education in the north of India. It has 55 teaching and research departments covering disciplines in Humanities, Arts and Sciences as diverse as Fine Arts, Biotechnology, Forensic Science, and Space Sciences. The University was awarded ‘A’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Presently it has 9000 students enrolled. Punjabi University also offers several UG and PG programs through distance learning mode via Directorate of Distance Education (DDE).

University provides admission to candidates into 3 years and 5 years Law courses.

For Admission in Law courses:

  • Different counselling rounds will take place on basis of vacant seats
  • The basic eligibility criteria for LLB course is Graduation with 45% marks whereas for BA LLB course, 10+2 is required
  • Application process is completely online
  • Application fee must be paid at HDFC bank through Pay-In-Slip generated after form submission

Punjabi University Law Eligibility Criteria


Eligibility norms are set up by the university selection committee according to the needs. The criteria set up are as follows:

CourseUniversity Eligibility
Three-Year LL.B.Graduation/Post Graduation in any faculty from Punjabi University, Patiala or any equivalent examination from any other statutory University by securing at least 45% marks and in case of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Physically handicapped candidates with at least 40% marks
Five-Year B.A., LL.B.10+2 examination of Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala with at least 45% marks and in case of SC/ST and physically handicapped candidates with at least 40% marks

Punjabi University Law Application Form


The application process is completely online. Candidates must visit the official website of university to register themselves. The application process is as follows:

  • Visit the official website i.e.
  • Click on ‘Apply Online’ and further on ‘Law Admission’
  • The application form will appear
  • Fill the form, upload required documents and submit it
  • After submission, candidates will be directed to payment page
  • Pay the application fee and preview the form completely
  • Submit the form and take a printout for future reference

Note: No application form submitted by post/by hand will be accepted.

Required Documents

Candidates need to upload some documents at time of form filling. Scanned copies of photograph and signature in JPEG, JPG or PNG format must be uploaded.

Application Fee

Candidate must deposit application fee in any branch of HDFC Bank after taking out a print of Pay-In-Slip generated after the submission of application form. The fee is as follows:

  • Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Candidates INR 1000
  • Other Candidates (Other than SC/ST) INR 2000
