MGU Kerala M.Phil. Admissions 2019

Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala is a UGC approved university which offers 300 academic programmes at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and research level all over India. Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala provides M.Phil. programme through Teaching/Research Departments in multiple disciplines under different schools. The university also offers distance courses such as B.Sc, BA, B.Com, M.Sc, MA and M.Com at MGU Kerala School of Distance Education (MGU-DE)

Admissions to the above mentioned M.Phil. Programme is done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the qualifying examination and marks scored in the entrance test, following which they will be called-in for interview. Eligible candidates should register themselves by submitting duly filled-in application forms, along with the required processing fee.

M.Phil. in Special Education and Rehabilitation Sciences

Candidate should have PG degree in Special Education/M.Sc in Disability Studies and Rehabilitation Studies/M.Ed degree with a minimum of 55%. Candidates with one paper in Special Education or the ones with experience in centres of Special Education or Diploma in Special Education will be preferred

M.Phil. in Rehabilitation Psychology

Candidate should have Master’s degree in Psychology with at least 55% marks

M.Phil. in Behavioural Medicine and rehabilitation (Full-time / Part-time)

Candidate should have MBBS degree with at least 55% marks. However, preference will be given to the aspirants holding PG degrees in medicine

M.Phil. in Behavioural Sciences and Rehabilitation Nursing

Candidate should possess M.Sc. degree in nursing with a minimum of 55% aggregate

M.Phil in Biosciences

Candidate should have M.Sc. degree in Biosciences with at least 55% marks in Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biophysics

M.Phil in Chemistry

Candidate must possess Master’s degree in Chemistry with at least 55% marks

M.Phil in Environmental Management

Candidate should possess Master’s degree in Botany/Zoology/Physics/Chemistry/Ecology/ Geology/Geoinformatics/Remote sensing and GIS/ Earth Sciences/Life Science/ Environmental Sci. & Management/ Microbiology/Aquaculture/Fishery Sci. / Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Disaster Mgmt. / Plant or Animal Sci. /Agriculture/Forestry/ Engg.

M.Phil in Pure and Applied Physics

Candidate should have M.Sc. degree in Physics with a minimum of 65% aggregate in marks

M.Phil in Malayalam

Candidate should possess Master’s degree in Malayalam with at least 55% marks

M.Phil in English

Candidate should have Master’s degree in English with a minimum of 55% aggregate in marks

M.Phil in Theatre Arts

Candidate should have Master’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 55% marks

M.Phil Gandhian Studies

Candidate should possess Master’s degree in Gandhian Studies with at least 55% marks

M.Phil Development Studies

Candidate should have Master’s degree in Development Science with at least 55% marks

M.Phil Social Work

Candidate should have done MSW/MA in Social Work in any field of specialization with a minimum of 55% aggregate in marks

M.Phil in Politics and International Relations

Candidate should possess Master’s degree in Politics and International Relations/Politics/History/ Economics/ /Law with a minimum of 55% marks

M.Phil in Social Sciences

Candidate should possess Masters in Social Sciences with at least 55% marks

M.Phil in Social Transformation and Empowerment

Candidate should possess Masters in Social Sciences with a minimum of 55% aggregate in marks

M.Phil in Human Ecology and Natural History

Candidate should possess PG degree in Natural Science/Material Science with at least 60% marks (or) PG in any of the social science subject with a minimum of 55% marks (or) Graduate degree in Forestry/Graduate Officers of Forest Department with a minimum 2 years of professional training in forestry or an equivalent

M.Phil in Pedagogical Sciences

Candidate should possess M.Ed. degree with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate

M.Phil in Business Studies

Candidate should have done MBA/M.Com/MA Economics/MHRM with a minimum of 55% marks

 


How to Apply

M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

Candidates can log on to the official university website to download the application forms and fill-in all the relevant details carefully. THERE IS NO ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS.

Along with completed applications, candidate must pay the registration fee of INR 500 through challan. Challan can be downloaded from the university website payable at any branch of SBT/University Cash counter/ Friends Janasevanakedram. (For SC/ST candidates, the registration fee is INR 250)

A single form should be submitted by the candidates even if they have to apply for more than one programme which can be specified in the order of preference in the form.

Completed applications should be sent along with all the relevant documents, receipt of the fee/ challan and self-addressed stamp to the DIRECTORS of the concerned schools.


Admission Process

M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

Candidates will be selected on the basis of the qualification examination, entrance examination and the interview as per the following weightage:

The entrance test will be separate for all the disciplines. Exam will be of 1 hour duration and will consist of objective type questions based on their qualification examination.
