Banaras Hindu University (BHU) MBBS & BDS Admission 2020: Registration, Cut Off, Merit List, Fees

BHU offers MBBS and BDS programs in undergraduate Medicine and Dental studies in the full-time mode for the duration of 5 & ½ and 3 years respectively. Both of these courses are offered by the Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU. There are total 84 seats available in MBBS with separate 4 seats for Foreign National (FN). 50 seats are available in BDS.

Admission to MBBS/ BDS is subject to a valid score in NEET UG followed by counselling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). NEET UG will be conducted on May 05, 2020. Check How to Apply for NEET UG

How to Apply for BHU MBBS/ BDS Courses

BHU MBBS/ BDS application form is available in the month of June after the declaration of NEET UG result. Students can apply by following the given steps:

  • Visit the official website of BHU.

  • Click on ‘Apply Online’ and fill the application form.

  • Provide details like NEET Score, AIR and personal information.

  • Pay the required amount of application fee.

  • Click on ‘Submit’ and save & take a printout of duly filled form for future requirements.

BHU MBBS/ BDS Eligibility Criteria

  • 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English with 50% marks (40% for reserved categories).

  • Candidates must have attained 17 years of age (relaxation of 5 years will be given to reserved categories) on or before December 31, 2020.

  • Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), FNs and candidates belonging to J & K are also eligible to apply.

BHU MBBS/ BDS Selection Criteria

Final admission to BHU is subject to candidates’ rank in NEET UG, seats available and reservation criteria. Here is the minimum NEET Cutoff required to get shortlisted in for the counselling round:

BHU MBBS/ BDS Merit List

BHU MBBS/ BDS merit list is published separately for each round. Selected students need to attend the counselling on given dates. No separate intimation will be given regarding the counselling. Candidates are advised to keep track of all admission and counselling related updates.

BHU MBBS/ BDS Counselling

BHU MBBS/ BDS counselling is conducted by MCC in three rounds including a mop-up round. Only those students who have maintained the position in merit list are eligible for counselling. 

MCC counselling process starts with a login and choice locking procedure for the desired course and college. After completion of the choice locking procedure, the final seat allotment process is performed. Selected students have to report at the allotted college for document verification and other admission proceedings. 

Note: If the seats remain vacant, MCC also conducts other counselling rounds following the same process as explained above.
