Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) UG Admissions 2019: Eligibility, Application Process, Entrance Exam

Kerela Agricultural University (KAU) offers B.Sc. (Hons.) and B.Tech. in various fields that include Agriculture, Co-operation and Banking, Cooperation, Banking and Management, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering and Food Engineering. These courses have duration of 4 years.

One can take admission into the majority programmes through KEAM entrance exam while for few University conducts its own entrance test. 

The candidates must have passed their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% in the Science stream to be eligible for admission.

KAU offers following UG 4 years programmes:

Eligibility

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Agricultural Engineering) & Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Engineering)

  • You should have qualified your 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • You should have completed 17 years of age before the last date for the submission of the online application.

B.Sc

For Coorportion and Banking

  • Candidate must have passed in 10+2 with atleast 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology
  • SC/ST candidates are required only to pass 10+2 examination with same subjects.

B.Sc (Agriculture)

  • Candidate must pass 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • 10% relaxation for SC/ST candidates.


How to apply

B.Sc (Agriculture) , BE/B.Tech & B.Sc

For B.Tech, B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture and B.Sc (Hons.) Forestry, candidates have to apply for the KEAM entrance exam. Where as for B.Sc (Hons.) Co-orporation & Banking and B.Sc. (Hons.) Coorporation, Banking & Management, candidates needs to apply on KAU official website. 

B.Sc (Agriculture) & BE/B.Tech

You should apply online for KEAM and send a printout filled application form to the CEEThere are seven steps in online application submission. You should complete all steps and send a printout filled application form with necessary documents to CEE, Kerala on or before last date of form submission.

Visit the official website and find the link “KEAM 2019 Online Application”.

Step 1 – Candidate Registration: This is a one time process. You should fill all required details and click on submit button. After submission, an application number will be generated by system.

Step 2 –  Candidate Login: With the help of Application no and password You can login and complete all other steps.

Step 3 –  Fill Application Form: Fill all basic details and you should click the ‘Save’ button to save the entries made so far before proceeding to Step 4.

Step 4 – Final Submission of Application Form: This is also a one time process. If you are sure that the information provided in step 3 is correct, click the link ‘Final Submission’. No correction of the application will be possible after final Submission of application in step 4.

Step 5 – Payment of Application Fee: You can pay application fee through two following methods

  • Through Security Card: You can obtain security card from selected post offices in Kerala and other states, on payment of prescribed fee by cash. Security card is free of cost for ST candidates.
  • Through Demand Draft: You can pay application fee through Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalised/Scheduled Bank, in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Application Fee:

  • For General Candidates: INR 1000/-
  • For SC Candidates: INR 500/-
  • For ST Candidates: No Application fee

Step 6 –  Printout of Application Form: You should take a printout of the online submitted application.

Step 7 – Send the printout of Application: Affix a photograph of the applicant with 3.5 x 4.5 cm size same as the photograph uploaded on the online application duly attested by the Head of the Institution in which you studied last or by a Gazetted Officer. You should affix the left hand thumb impression in the space provided in the printout of the application. The applicant and parent should sign in the specified areas on the printout of the application and attach supporting documents/certificates and send to following address:

You will be required to produce all the original documents during the time of admission, failing which can result in the forfeiture of admission in the university.

B.Sc (Hons) Co-orporation and Banking

  • Candidate need to apply on official website (http://www.admissions.kau.in).
  • Candidate needs to register himself by providing essential details.
  • After that login into portal through id and password provided by university through email. 
  • Enter the academic details
  • Pay the application fee through internet or by challan.
  • Take the print out of application form and reciept of fee payment. 
  • Send the both the documents enclosed within envelop to the following address:

Note: Application fee for General Category is INR 1000/- and for SC/ST is INR 500/-.

There are percentage breakup of seats offered in both in B.Sc(Hons.) and B.Tech are as follows

If any seat of the reserved quota is not occupied then the seat will be automatically added in the State Merit. The seat that is un-availed by the SC candidates will go to ST category and vice-versa.

The communal reservations will be allowed only to the candidates applying as natives of Kerela.

Hi Vipin, for admission in B.Sc Agriculture, candidates must have scored 50% (for general category) in 12th (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and 50% in Biology. Relaxation of 5% will be given to the candidates from reserved categories.

Hi Sheeba, Admission to the B.Sc.(Hons.) and B.Tech.courses depend on the entrance examinations, KEAM. The questions asked in this entrance exam will be objective type and will refer to your 2 syllabus. The allotment to this course will depend upon the results that will be declared by the University on May 25, 2018 (tentative). For more information please contact to the university.
