 Bharathiar University provides graduate, masters and Ph.D. programs in various subjects. The distance education program is run from the School of Distance Education at Bharathiar University. School of Distance Education, Bharathiar University? offers nine undergraduate courses and six postgraduate courses and 35 PG Diploma courses in various fields of Science, Arts, Commerce, Computer Application, Business Administration, Management, Social Work, and Library Sciences.

Application Process

Application form for Bhartihar University can be filled in the given four formats:

  • Spot Admission: Walk-in with your original certificates with attested copies, fill in the application form, pay the fees in any one of the State Bank of India Branches and get admitted. 
  • Application by Post: Send a Demand Draft for  INR 200 to the Director, School of Distance Education, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46 with a self-addressed envelope of size 30cmX24cm to receive the application form by post.
  • Application in person: Pay INR 150 (cost of the application) in any of the State Bank of India or Bank of India Challan without DD commission or a crossed Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Director, School of Distance Education, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore payable at Coimbatore and get the application form. 
  • Application from Website: Application forms can be downloaded from the University website and you will need to enclose an SBI Challan or Demand Draft or any Nationalized Bank for INR 100 to apply.

Filled in Application Forms have to be submitted to the Study Centers / Spot Admission Centers / City Centers / Bharathiar University or by post along with the Registration Fee INR 100 and Xerox copies of Certificates.

Admission Procedure:

  • On verification of the eligibility of the candidate for admission, the candidates will be intimated about the provisional selection. The provisional admission intimation letter shall indicate:
  1. The amount of fees payable by the candidate and the payment schedule.          
  2. The list of original documents to be submitted for verification and return.
  • When you receive the communication informing the provisional selection, you must send all the required documents and tuition fees.
  • After checking the original certificates, the enrolment letter confirming the admission will be sent to you.

Admission Process

Payment: All payments to the School of Distance Education should be made only by means of a crossed MICR Demand Draft, or SBI & BOI Challan, accompanied by the appropriately filled–in–fee remittance form. A format of the fee–remittance form is enclosed; it may be duplicated for future use. 
Note: The enrolment number and the name of the student should be written on the reverse side of the Demand Draft or Challan.

Scholarship

  • Scholarships for SC/ST students will be granted as per the directives of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • However the students are instructed to remit the full fees, at the time of admission and it will be refunded as and when the scholarship is granted by the concerned authorities.
  • Application forms for Scholarship can be obtained from the District Adi-Dravida Welfare Officer.
