Annamalai University M.Sc (Ag.) & MBA (Ag.) Admissions 2019: Courses, Dates, Eligibility

Founded in 1929, Annamalai University is the first private university and one of Asia's largest public residential universities located in India. Annamalai University is one of the first institutions in the country to offer courses of higher education in science, engineering, humanities, agriculture and arts. A pioneer in imparting quality education, it was taken over by the Tamil Nadu government in 2013 and has emerged as one of the largest public residential university with 10 faculties and 49 departments of study. The university also provides more than 500 courses through distance learning mode.

The university offers two PG courses in the field of agriculture (M.Sc. & M.B.A.) that can be pursued on Full time as well as Part time basis. Admissions to these programmes is based on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination and marks scored in the entrance test and the interview to be conducted by the university.

Candidates who satisfy the eligibility can register themselves by filling-in the concerned application form available at the university website. Completed applications should be submitted to the university office, along with the processing fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/SCA candidates).

  • Candidates under 4 point grade systems should possess a minimum OGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 and 2.75 out of 4.00 in the concerned subject.
  • For those less than 10 point grade system, a minimum OGPA of 6.00 out of 10.00 and 6.50 out of 10.00 in the concerned subject is required. However, for SC/SCA/ST candidates, a pass in the degree concerned is sufficient.
  • For M.B.A (Agri. Business) the minimum OGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 is sufficient

For Part-Time programmes:

The Part-time M.Sc. (Ag./Hort.) / M.B.A (Agri. Business) programme will be offered to the in-service candidates of Annamalai University with at least two years of service. Candidates should possess a pass in B.Sc.(Ag.)/ B.Sc.(Hort.) in order to apply for the programme. 

How To Apply

Candidates can register themselves for the above mentioned courses through the online application process.

  • Candidate should log on to the official university website and fill the concerned application form to register for the M.Sc/ MBA in Agriculture programmes.
  • Upon filling-in all the relevant details, candidate will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence. Online Application Number is the Registration Number of the Annamalai University M.Sc.(Ag.)/M.Sc.(Horti.)/M.B.A.(Agri. Business) Admissions.
  • Candidate should also submit a registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST Candidates) through demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai
  • Completed applications, along with the necessary enclosures and registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed / Registered post or in person to the following address:

Admission Process

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Agriculture) , Master of Science [M.Sc] (Horticulture) & Master of Business Administration [MBA] (Agriculture)

Entrance test will be conducted for M.Sc. Agriculture/Horticulture and MBA in Agriculture programme. Based on the result of entrance test and interview, candidates will be called for counselling session where they will be allotted the subject according to availability and number of seats

Note: A candidate can apply to a maximum of three courses

Reservation Criteria

  • Seats will be reserved for candidates belonging to ST/SC/SCA/MBC/DNC//BC/ BCM/OC communities as per rules and regulations of the Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • 3% seats have been included for differently abled persons as per norms laid down by the Government of Tamil Nadu
