Annamalai University BE & B.Voc. Admission 2020: Admit Card, Dates, Eligibility

Annamalai University is offering Bachelor’s program in the field of Engineering and Vocational Studies i.e. BE (Bachelor of Engineering) & B.Voc. (Bachelor of Vocational Studies).

Annamalai University opts the online mode of registration of the programs on its official website followed by the submission of the forms with necessary enclosures to the postal address of the university.

Admissions in BE full time program is based on the guidelines of DOTE (Directorate of Tamil Nadu Education). Admissions in BE part time program is based on the entrance test conducted by the university whereas scores of qualifying examination will be considered for the B Voc.

Registration of BE full time is to be made on the official website of TNEA which often begins in the month of May every year. Whereas registration for BE part time and B Voc. Is to be done on the official website of the Annamalai University which begins in the month of May and June every year.

The registration fees for BE part time and B Voc. Is INR 600/- for general category INR 350/- for SC/ST which is to be paid online through means available. Registration fees of BE full time is INR 500/- for general category and INR 250/- for SC/ST belonging to Tamil Nadu i.e. to be paid online on the website of TNEA.

Eligibility Criteria

BE/B.Tech & Bachelors in Vocational Courses

Eligibility for B.E., B.E. (Lateral Entry), B.Voc.   

  • Candidates who have passed VIII, IX, X, XI and XII in Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply without native certificate. Those who have completed their schooling from outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply with native certificate
  • Children of Central Government Employees are eligible to apply. Sons and Daughters of all India service Tamil Nadu Cadre can also apply
  • Children of employee in public or government sector for the past 5 years are eligible to apply with evidence like income tax return and PF Slip

For B.E. (Full-Time):

Candidate must have passed in HSC or equivalent with minimum required percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as given below:

Civil & Structural Engineering

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed in diploma of civil and structural engineering conducted by state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed in diploma of Mechanical engineering conducted by state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed in diploma of Electrical and Electronics engineering conducted by state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

Eligibility: Candidate must have passed in Electrical and Electronics / Electronics and Instrumentation / Electronics and Communication / Computer Science & Engineering / Instrumentation and Control / Electronics Engg. / Information Technology conducted by state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization

Chemical Engineering

Eligibility: Candidate must pass diploma in Chemical Engineering conducted by state board of technical education of Tamil Nadu or equivalent with 2 years work experience in a recognized organization.

For B.E. (Lateral entry)

  • Candidate must have passed with minimum eligibility marks in one of the diploma in branch of engineering of state board of technical education and training.
  • Candidate must have to possess following minimum eligibility marks to lateral entry programme as follows:

How to Apply

BE/B.Tech & Bachelors in Vocational Courses

For BE(Part Time and B.Voc)

Candidates can register themselves for the above mentioned courses through the online application process.

  • Log on to the official university website and fill the concerned application form to register for the B.E. (Regular/L.E.) and B.Voc programmes.
  • Upon filling-in all the relevant details, candidate will be allotted an online application number for future correspondence. 
  • Candidate should also submit a registration fee of INR 600/- (INR.350/- for SC/ST Candidates) through demand draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favour of The Registrar, Annamalai University and payable at Chennai. 
  • Completed applications, along with the necessary enclosures and registration fee, should be downloaded and submitted either by speed / Registered post or in person to the following address:

  5. HSC Hall Ticket/ Equivalent Hall Ticket
  6. Nativity Certificate – if applicable
  7. First Graduate Certificate and First Graduate Joint Declaration

  • Login with your ID
  • Start filling the form with your personal details.
  • Preview and submit the form

Admission Process

BE/B.Tech & Bachelors in Vocational Courses

For B.E. (Full-Time):

Selection of the candidate will be based on marks obtained in the subjects (mathematics- 100, physics & chemistry- 100) for general category candidates.

In case of equal marks, candidate shall be selected on the basis of percentage in mathematics, physics and fourth optional subject taken together in 10+2.

For B.E. Lateral Entry:

Selection of the candidate will be based on the marks obtained in the final year examination of the qualifying degree.

For B.Voc.:

Selection of candidate will be based on the overall marks secured in the qualifying examination.

For B.E (Part-Time):

Selection of the candidates will be based on their score in the Entrance Examination and Interview
