VELS University, Chennai offers 2-year Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme. Selection of the candidate for the programme will be based on their performance in the Vels Entrance Exam (VEE) conducted by the university.

Candidate should have studied under 10+2+3 patternwith maths as the main subject.

Application form can be filled online through the official website of the University (http://www.velsuniv.ac.in/online-application.asp). Application fee of INR 500/- can be paid through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card.

Application Process

Application form can be filled online through the official website of Vels University. 

  1. Visit:www.velsuniv.ac.in/online-application.asp 
  2. Enter the required information
  3. Type email id and contact number
  4. Create a password
  5. Tap “Apply Now”
  6. Enter academic details
  7. Upload photograph and signature
  8. Upload supporting documents
  9. Pay the application fee of INR 500/- through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card.
  10. Note the application number and take a print out of the submitted application form for future reference.

Required Documents

  1. Mark Sheet of the qualifying examination or equivalent.
  2. Provisional Pass Certificate / Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination.
  3. Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Institute last studied(if applicable)
  4. Community Certificate (if applicable).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelors Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA, B.Sc. (IT/ Computer Science) with Mathematics as a course at 10 + 2 level or at Graduate level from a recognized university.
  • Obtained at least 50%marks (45% marks in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination.

Selection Process

Admission will be based on Vels Entrance Exam (VEE) conducted by university and marks secured in the qualifying examination.
  • Merit list will be uploaded by the university according to the scores secured in the qualifying examination.
  • Qualified students will be called for VEE.
    • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
    • Type: MCQ
    • 100 questions
    • Marking Scheme: 1 mark each for correct answer
  • Final merit list will be uploaded according to the performance in VEE and scores in qualifying examination.
  • Selected candidates will be invited for document verification and payment of the programme fee.

  3. Scorecard of VEE
  4. Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Institute last studied(if applicable)
