The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University (TNMGRMU) is a government medical university and is the 2nd largest health sciences university in India. The university has different departments which offer a multitude of medical courses at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctoral level.
The faculty of dentistry at TNMGRMU offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) & Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programme to those who possess the relevant eligible degree. The university offers BDS/ MDS course to its students in the following disciplines:

Admission to the above mentioned programmes is done through marks secured by the candidate in the university entrance examination. Candidates can register themselves through online application process upon submitting the prescribed application fee of Rs. 1400/- and Rs. 1600/- for BDA and MDS courses respectively, along with relevant original certificates.
For admission to BDS/MDS programme, candidates can fill the online application form available at the university website and submit it along with the required fee to complete the registration process
Candidate must submit the registration fee of Rs. 1400/- and Rs. 1600/- for BDS and MDS programme respectively, for application and eligibility certificate through online payment gateway for students. The application and eligibility certificate fee is non-refundable
For NRI candidates:
Candidates who have passed advanced level qualification and central board examination in foreign countries can also submit application and eligibility fee amount of Rs. 10,000/- through Demand Draft (DD) in favour of The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
Candidate should be of Indian origin settled in foreign countries or should be born to parents of Indian origin in a foreign country. Candidate seeking admission under NRI quota must possess Indian passport

Certificate of relationship between the NRI financial supporter and the candidate issued by the competent authority
Valid Indian Passport of the NRI financial supporter
NRE (Non Resident External) Bank Account Pass Book of the financial supporter
Evidence for payment of Development charges US $ 1000/- to the college by the NRI financial supporter (One time payment at the time of admission only)

Candidate must possess 50% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry and biology at 10+2 level examination. SC/ST students shall be given 10% relaxation in minimum required aggregate marks.
Candidate should have complete age of 17 years on or before being admitted to the BDS course
Selection of the candidate will be done on the basis of the marks obtained in qualifying entrance examination and rank scored in the merit list.
