Kerala State Law University (KSLU) LL.B and LL.M Admissions 2020: Application form, Dates, Fees

The Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) is a State university situated at Navanagar, Karnataka. The university offers various graduate and post graduate law courses which include LLB, B.A., LL.B., B.B.A., LL.B. and B.B.A., LL.B., (Hon’s) Double Degree integrated courses and LL.M. programme. Nearly 92 law colleges of Karnataka are affiliated to it.

KSLU invites applications for admission to its undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the academic year. Applications can be obtained either directly or online.

The LLB (Bachelor of Law) course is a three-year course and the BA/BBA LLB courses are five-year courses. LLM (Master of Law) is a one year course. The Applicants must appear for an online entrance test. An Eligibility Certificate is needed if applied from outside Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria


  • Admission will be based on merit and the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying exams.
  • Must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in case of general category applicants and 40% marks in case of SC and ST applicants. 

Duration: 3 Years

Selection Process

Admission will be granted on the basis of the rank secured by the candidate in the Entrance Examination.

For LL.B the duration of the entrance exam will be 2 ½ hours and will comprise of 200 objective type questions. For B.A. LL.B the duration of the test will be of 2 hours and will constitute of 200 questions.

The Entrance Test for LL.M will comprise of 2 sections of 100 marks each. The duration of the test will be 3 hours.

For each correct response, the candidate will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted from the total score. 

Application Process

The candidates must first apply for the entrance exam. After the declaration of the results, the candidates can proceed to apply for admission at KSLU.

Law aspirants seeking admission to the course should apply online through the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.

  • The candidates must register and create their log-in credentials.
  • The applicant must fill in all the necessary information.
  • After verifying all the details provided, the candidates must proceed to submit the application by clicking on the link- Final Submission
  • Pay application fees.

  • The fees can be paid either online or through e-challan.
  • On successful payment, the applicants will be guided back to the home page wherein he/she will find the ‘Pay Application Fee’ tab at the top turned green and can proceed to upload of photograph, signature and supporting documents.
  • Upload the following necessary documents in the application:-
    1. Demand draft/Challan From for the programme fee.
    2. Caste/Tribe/Community/Disability Certificate in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH.
    3. SSLC/SSC/X Class Certificate/Marks Card containing Date of birth.
    4. PUC 2nd year/HSC and Degree Qualification Examination marks card.
    5. 5 recent stamp size photographs along with application.
    6. Acknowledgment Card duly stamped.
    7. Income certificate, if fee concession is claimed.
    8. Eligibility certificate, if needed.
    9. Migration certificate, if needed.
  • After successfully uploading all the documents, the candidates must take a printout of the application form along with the enclosures by clicking on the link ‘Print Application’.

The Admit Card can be downloaded from the website of Comissioner for Entrance Examinations. 


The reservation criteria is based on the policy of Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions.
