Bangalore Universityis a state university located in Bangalore. It is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade. The University has six faculties namely Arts, Science, Commerce & Management, Education, Law and Engineering. It has 43 Post Graduate Departments, One post graduate Centre at Kolar, (Started during 1994-95), three constituent colleges, 665 affiliated colleges (of which 115 have PG Courses) and several other Centres and Directorates of higher learning and research programme. At present, the University offers 50 Post Graduate Courses and Employment Oriented Diploma and Certificate Courses. The University has launched the Five years Integrated Courses in Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Business Studies and the Four years B.S. Programme and will be starting a course in Criminology and Rehabilitation from this academic year. Following are the list of the constituent colleges of Bangalore University:

  1. University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE).
  2. University Law School.
  3. Department of Physical Education.

B.A. L.LB is a five year Integrated programme is offered by the University of Law college, one of the constituent colleges of Bangalore University offering its service for 65 long years in the field of law. From the very first year the students are made familiar to the courtroom environment through “Moot Courts Competitions”. Students are also made aware of the legal aid and literacy programme.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Arts in Legum Baccalaureus (L.LB) Programme in Bangalore University:

B.A.L.LB Programme is a five year Undergraduate programme in University Law College, Bangalore University, designed for students who wants to pursue Law as a career option. Following are the number of seats allotted for L.LB. Programme:

Merit Seats: 60

Payment Seats: 20

Note: a maximum of 60 students will be admitted per class + 20 students under self-finance scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for B.A.L.LB Programme:

  1. You need to pass your Senior Secondary Examination (+2 Board exam) with an aggregate of 45% from any recognized Board in India (Recognised State Board, ISC, CBSE, IGCSE, NIOS etc.) or abroad. If you belong to SC/ST Category you will need to have an aggregate of 40 % in your Senior Secondary Examination (+2) Board exam. If you have scored 44.5% as a General candidate or 39.5% as SC/ST candidate you shall be deemed to have secured 45% and 40% respectively.
  2. You must not be more than 20 years of age (General Category) as on last date for submission of application of the year of admission. There is a provision for age relaxation up to 2 year for SC/ST/OBC and Foreign Students.
  3. If you are a foreign national it is mandatory for you to have English Language as one of the compulsory subject in your class 12 or equivalent Higher Secondary School Examination by obtaining Grade or marks equivalent to 45% in aggregate as determined by the Equivalence committee. You may even need to appear in an English Language competence test if the University feels the necessity to have one.

Along with all the attested documents required for admission. A Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of Finance Officer, Bangalore University, Bangalore-560056 Payable at State Bank of Mysore, Nagarabhavi Branch Bangalore must be sent along with the application form and other documents.

You need to attest and attach following documents along with the application form and DD.

1) Two photocopy of PUC / XII Std. / 10+2 Marks sheet.

2) One PUC / XI Std. / 10+1 Marks Sheet.

3) X Std. S.S.L.C. Marks Sheet.

 4) You need to have a Character certificate from head of the Institution last attended.

5) Please attach a Proof / Certificate of reservation category & Income Certificate.

 5a) Social Welfare Online Registration Form Number (SC/ST Candidates only).

6) If you have a gap year please offer an explanation for the gap period, on a separate sheet.

7) Any other Proof / Certificate that may advance the cause for admission / merit of the candidate.

8) Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate


Selection Process

Your admission shall be done on the basis of merit cum reservation policy of the Karnataka Government and in accordance with the Bangalore University’s norms and rules. Please note that admission/application fees once paid will not be refunded. Students from Karnataka will be preferred for admission, however, unfilled seats (except supernumerary seats) will be allotted to non-Karnataka students on the basis of merit.
