Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) MBA Agribusiness Management Admission 2020: Courses, Application Process, Entrance Exam

Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) offers full time MBA programme in Agri-Business Management in faculty of Agriculture at College of Co-Operation, Banking & Management, Vellanikkara. All candidates desires of getting MBA (ABM) 2020 Admission of KAU have to qualify the Kerala Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) 2020 or CMAT, CAT or MAT entrance exams.

How to apply

You can download application forms for MBA courses from the official website of KAU or You can apply online for admission to MBA (ABM) programme after the announcement of results of KMAT in the official website of KAU.

Application forms and prospectus for admission to the above PGprogrammes are available in the KAU website www.admissions You should apply for MBA Programme programme through online and take a printout of hard copy of the application. You can obtain the application form from the office of the Director, MBA (ABM), College of Co-operation, Banking and Management, Vellanikkara by paying Rs.20 per application form.You should send a hard copy of application form along with the required documents and fees details to the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, KAU P.O., Thrissur, Kerala - 680 656 within 7 days to the last date prescribed for the submission of online application.

Application Fee:

  • General Candidates: INR 1000/-
  • SC/ST Candidates: INR 500/-

Make Payment of Application Fee:

If you belong to Kerala then you can remit application fee at any branch o SBT Bank. If you belong to another state then you should pay application through Demand draft drawn I favour of Comptroller, KAU at SBT, KAU main campus branch.

  • For Keralite Students: Fee may be remitted by pay in slip at any SBT Branch in the state, to the Kerala Agricultural University Comptroller’s SB Account No. 57006546701 maintained at SBT, KAU Branch Main Campus, Vellanikkara and the original counterfoil of the remittance slip must be attached along with the hard copy of application form send to University.
  • For Students outside Kerala: The application fee shall be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Comptroller, KAU, Vellanikkara payable at the SBT, KAU Campus Branch, Vellanikkara and the DD should be enclosed with the hard copy of application.

Required documents to send with Application Form

  • Remittance slip/Demand Draft for the application fee
  • Community Certificate and Income Certificate
  • No objection certificate (NOC) and experience certificate (in case of in-service candidates)
  • Self-attested copies of certificates in proof of age, qualifications, mark sheet of qualifying examination, sports activities.
  • Self-attested copy of Residential certificate (in the case of candidates from Kerala)
  • One self-addressed stamped (worth Rs.10/-) envelope of size 23 cm x 10 cm

How to apply for Kerala MAT?

The application for KMAT should be submitted through online. The application fee for general category is Rs. 800/- and for the SC/ST candidate, Rs. 500/-.

Application for admission to Entrance Examination of MBA course Kerala can be submitted only through online on the official website of Kerala MAT.

There are two stages to submitting the application.

Stage 1: Remitting Application fee online

There are given some following steps to remit application fee

  • Visit Kerala MAT’s official website
  • Click on the link “New Candidate- Remit Application Fee”.
  • Fill all the required details such as Name, Age, Date of Birth(in DD/MM/YYYY format), Mobile Number and E-MailID and complete the online fee payment process. The details entered during online fee payment can not be changed later.
  • You should pay application fee through online only by way of Netbanking/CreditCard/DebitCard facility of any of the banks.

Application Fee:

For General Candidates: INR 800/-

For SC/ST Candidates: INR 500/-

  • You will get a ‘SB Collect Reference Number ’ and a receipt of payment of fee after successful payment of the Application fee online. You should take a printout of the online receipt. SB Collect Reference number is important for later logging into the site to continue with stage 2.

Stage 2: Completing Online Application Submission

You can fill online application after 24 hours of payment of application fee. There are given some points for online application submission.

  • Visit Kerala MAT’s Official website.
  • Click on the link ‘Login-FeeRemittedCandidate’.
  • Login with the help of SB Collect Reference Number and Date of Birth.
  • Click on the button “Browse” and select the photograph file. Then click on the button “Upload’. The photograph will be displayed on the screen after successful uploading. The photograph file must be in jpg format with size less than or equal to 20 KB.
  • Now click on the button “Proceed”. The application form is displayed. Fill in all the details correctly and click on the button ‘Save’ to complete the submission.
  • You can click the button “PRINT” and take a printout of the application.

Note: It is not required to send  the hard copy of the application form.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have a professional graduate degree from any State Agricultural Universities/ Deemed Universities under ICAR system with a minimum OGPA of 7.0/10.0 (6.5/10.0 for SC/ST candidates).

You must have a graduate degree including professional graduate degree from any Indian/Foreign Universities recognized by AICTE/UGC with minimum 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST candidates) from SSLC onwards under traditional system.

If you are appearing for the final examination of the qualifying degree, You are also eligible to apply for the course, provided they secure their mark list and provisional certificate on or before the date of admission.

Reservation of Seats

In KAU, 10% of the seats are reserved for Keralite SC/ST candidates. There are 40 seats for MBA programme.

  • Five seats are reserved for candidates selected through All India Competitive Examination conducted by ICAR, Govt. Of India.
  • Five seats reserved for candidates sponsored by Agribusiness Govt. Departments/Organizations / Agencies & Institutions including KAU. They must have minimum 3 years of experience while applying.
  • Five seats are earmarked for international candidates nominated by Government of India.

Note: The vacant seats in the reserved categories will be filled from an open merit list.

Selection Procedure

Admission shall be based on the score in the Kerala MAT/CMAT/MAT/CAT followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be conducted by KAU and performance in the qualifying degree examination. The candidates will be ranked according to the following criteria:

  • Kerala MAT/CMAT/MAT/CAT Score: 120 Marks
  • Qualifying Degree: 30 Marks
  • Group Discussion: 25 Marks
  • Interview: 25 Marks
