CUSAT MBA Admission 2018

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) offers three full-time and one part-time MBA programme. Generally for MBA courses, the application starts from January month of every year. This year, the Online application for admission to all MBA programmes has been started from January 22, 2018 (tentative) and it will be closed on February 15, 2018 (tentative).

School of Management Studies, CUSAT invites applications for admission to MBA Programmes for academic session of 2018-19. SMS is one of the best B- Schools in India in terms of Return on Investment (ROI). It comes second after FMS, Delhi in terms of ROI. The course fee for the two year MBA program is less than Rs. 50000. It is one of top five MBA Colleges in Kerala.

In CUSAT, all programmes of CUSAT expect the 3 years evening LLB programme are approved for fee concessions for SC/ST candidates and other Eligible Communities. 50% tuition fee concession will be granted for PWD candidates. Hostel accommodation for around 700 female and 600 male students is available for all UG, PG and Research students. You can download the application form for admission to university hostels from university websites.

  • Three years part time MBA programme: 30 seats

Eligibility Criteria for CUSAT MBA admission


You must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any subject with 50% marks in aggregate to apply for all part-time and full-time MBA programmes offered by SMS, CUSAT.

The Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Cast (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.

Note: If you have appeared/are appearing in your final qualifying examinations in this year, then you are also eligible to apply. In case, you are appearing for compartmental/improvement examinations in this year then you can not eligible apply for any programme.

How to apply for CUSAT MBA programme?


You can apply for admission to MBA programme only online mode. The registration window has been opened from January 20, 2018 (tentative). Visit CUSAT website for online application. You can not apply for MBA programme after February 15, 2018 (tentative). Admissions to all MBA programs are based on the CUSAT CAT Rank.

INR 1000/- For General & OBC Candidates

INR 500/- For SC/ST Candidates

INR 6000/- For NRI Candidates

How to apply for MBA programme?

You can submit online form for MBA programme after January 20, 2018 (tentative). Visit the official website of CUSAT. You can not change any detail after submission of application form.

Submit Application Form: The online application submission is a two-stage process.

  • Stage 1: In this stage, you should fill basic personal details such as Name, DOB, email id, mobile number etc. After submitting details, user Id and password will be sent by mail and SMS.
  • Stage 2: In this stage, you should login with the help of user id and password. Now fill all other details required in the online registration form and upload your recent passport size colour photograph and signature.

Required dimensions and size of photo & signature

For Photo: 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with the file size between 4 KB and 100 KB

For Signature: 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm with file size between 1 KB and 30 KB

Make Payment: You can make payment through SBI/SBT Internet Banking or through Challan. You should check your application status after two working days from the date of payment of fee. Last date for fee submission is February 22, 2018 (tentative).

Note: You can not change any detail after submission of application form.

Selection Process for CUSAT MBA Programme


The selection process is totally based on CUSAT CAT Rank. Rank lists for all MBA programs are prepared on the combined basis of the CMAT 2018/ MAT 2018/CAT 2018. Score and performance at Group Discussion and Interview. The normalization of the CMAT score/MAT Score/CAT score will be decided by the CUSAT University.

  • CMAT/MAT/CAT Score: 70%
  • Group Discussion: 15%
  • Interview: 15%

The counselling process will be started in fourth week of June 2018 and counselling schedule will be published on the official website of CUSAT. You should produce the following certificate and documents in original at the time of counselling:

  • CAT/MAT/CMAT Score Card and Admit Card
  • Degree Certificate / Provisional Certificate
  • Mark list of all Year / Semesters
  • Migration Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate
  • 10th Standard Certificate / Mark list
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Income Certificate & Community Certificate
  • Two Sets of photocopies of all Original Certificates / documents

Fee Concessions

All Programs of CUSAT except the 3 year evening LLB program are approved for fee concessions for SC/ST candidates and other Eligible Communities.50% concessions in tuition fees will be granted to Physically Challenged candidate.

Kerala SC/ST candidates need to pay only the caution deposit, PTA fee and Co-curricular fee at the time of admission in State Merit, All India Merit and All India Quota. SC/ST candidates from Other than Kerala are not eligible for fee concessions.

Note: One seat of MBA (Full-time) programme is reserved for Army officers recommended by the Army Head Quarters and five seats reserved for International students. Candidates belonging to states other than Kerala are not eligible for communal reservation.
