Bangalore University (BU) BE and B.Arch. Admission 2020: Eligibility, Application Forms, Entrance Exam

Bangalore University offers a four-year undergraduate BE Programme which is carried out in one of the constituent colleges of Bangalore University popularly known as “University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering”. You have an option to choose one from the five courses offered in the BE engineering program. There are 570 AICTE sanctioned seats for the BE Programme. You shall be selected on the basis of the rank allotted to you after appearing in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority.

Five-year undergraduate B.Arch. Program is carried out in one of the constituent colleges of Bangalore University popularly known as “University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering”. There are 40 AICTE sanctioned seats for the B.Arch. Program. You need to score a minimum of 40% of Marks in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) i.e. 80 out of 200.

Eligibility Criteria for BE Programme: You need to pass in your 2 PUC/ 12th/ Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtain a minimum of 45% marks aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer.

If you belong to SC, ST, Cat- 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category, you need to have a 40% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer.

Apart from your aggregate marks in your higher secondary exam, you need to appear in Karnataka Qualifying Examination and Common Entrance Test (CET).

Selection Process

Selection Process for BE Programme: In order to enroll yourself in B.E. Programme in any of the Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un-Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka you need to appear in Karnataka Common Entrance Test.

You will be allotted rank on the basis of taking marks in equal proportions in QE and CET in PCM (Physics Chemistry Mathematics) subjects. You can apply in Bangalore University’s constituent college “University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering” on the basis of the rank allotted to you.

The following documents must be produced at the time of admission:

  • SSLC/10th Standard Mark Sheet
  • 12th standard Mark Sheet
  • Caste Certificate
  • CET Admit Card
  • NATA Score Card (for B.Arch)

Application Process

You must follow the given steps to apply for B.Arch. and B.E. programs-

Step 1: You need to select “CET-2020 UG Online Application” on the official website of Karnataka Examination Authority.

Step 2: Click on “New User? Click Here to Register” on the home page of the online application form.

Step 3: You are required to provide all the information in the candidate registration form.

Step 4: After successful registration, you will receive an Application number and User-ID to your registered phone number and email id and the same will be displayed on the screen.

Step 5: A Login Prompt will be displayed, where you must enter the User ID and Password.

Step 6: Once you have successfully logged in, “Student information” will be displayed, in which you need to start entering the required information.

Step 7: Once you have completed the student information entries, you will have to save the entries made.

Step 8: Please enter all the study details and select the “save and next” button.

Step 9: After successful saving the study details, you will have to upload the scanned images of photographs, candidate signature, your Left-Hand Thumb Impression, and Parent’s Signature and select “save and next” button.

Step 10: After completion of the above steps, please take the draft printouts, carefully verify the entries made before accepting the declaration.

Step 11: Candidates have to take the printout of the Challan copy, which is in triplicate. The candidates have to pay the requisite fee in any of the branches of specified banks. The bank will retain a bank copy of the Challan respectively and handover the remaining two copies of the Challan to the candidates.

Step 12: You have to take the printout of the application form on the A-4 Size sheet of paper. Affix your recent Passport size Photograph, signature, Left Hand Thumb Impression on the space provided and attest it with Principal seal and signature from the college where you have studied 2nd PU or 12th Standard on the space provided in the printed form.

The same copy should be produced during document verification along with a copy of the Challan (KEA copy).

For BE Programme you need to submit your Common Admission Test score.

For B.Arch. Program admission you need to submit your score in the National Aptitude Test in Architectureor NATA.
