Tumkur University PG Admission 2020: Application Form, Time Table, Result

Tumkur University, Karnataka provides post graduation courses in the field of arts, commerce, science and social work. The admission for different programmes except M.S.W. is done through the OMNIBUS merit followed by the counselling process in the month of July. For M.S.W. must appear for an entrance test after passing which he needs to go for the counselling session. Admission to MBA program is granted on the basis of PGCET (allotment of seat is done by Karnataka examination authority). KaranatakaCounselling for arts, commerce and science courses are done separately. Application forms can be obtained in person as well as through post by the payment of application fee. Classes for the course begin in the month of August. Tumkur University also has the provision for scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria



Masters of commerce is a 3 year programme provided by the department of commerce, Tumkur University. 

B.Com/B.B.M. or equivalent degree with at least 50% can apply for the course. SC/ST require 45% marks to apply for the course.


Bachelor degree in any specialisation with a minimum of 50% can apply for an MBA. SC/ST require 45% for this course.

  • After filling the details in the application form, download the bank challan for the payment of INR 800.

  • Get the application form from State Bank of Mysore, Tumkur University branch at Tumkur by paying INR 350 through as application fee through challan.
  • Apart from this, get the form by sending a DD of INR 350 drawn in favour of the “Finance Officer, Tumkur University payable at Tumkur along with a A4 size self addressed envelope affixing a stamp of INR 50 to the given address.

Admission Process


Students must appear in the PGCET-MBA test for getting admission to MBA programme. This test is conducted for both the Karnataka residents as well as for residents of other states too.

MA , M.Com & M.Sc

Selection for different PG courses is done on the merit basis followed by counselling process. Merit and Counselling process will be conducted in the month of July.  Documents to be shown at the time of counselling:

  1. Mark sheet of class X and XII.
  2. Mark sheets of all semesters of the qualifying exam.
  3. Provisional certificate of Qualifying degree
  4. Transfer certificate

Admission Notes

NOTE: Those students who want to do M.S.W. programme needs to appear for an entrance test after which they need to go for counselling.

User facts:

  • If in any course there are less than 10 applicants then the course is subjected to cancellation.
  • OMNIBUS MERIT list will be published on as well as on the notice board of the concerned departments.
  • The counselling process for arts, commerce and science courses are done separately.​


  • SC/ST category students whose family income is less than INR 2.5 lakh per annum, need not to pay any amount of fees. There fees will be reimbursed by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Karnataka.
  • If a candidate belongs to a backward community and has a family income of less than INR 2.5 lakh then their tution fee, library fee, sports fee and lab fee will be reimbursed by the Department of Backward classes, Government of Karnataka.
