Bangalore University is a state university located in Bangalore. It is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade. Bangalore University has six faculties namely Arts, Science, Commerce & Management, Education, Law and Engineering. It has 43 Post Graduate Departments, One post graduate Centre at Kolar, (Started during 1994-95), three constituent colleges, 665 affiliated colleges (of which 115 have PG Courses) and several other Centres and Directorates of higher learning and research programme. At present, the University offers 50 Post Graduate Courses and Employment Oriented Diploma and Certificate Courses. Two year postgraduate ME Programme is carried out in one of the constituent college of Bangalore University popularly known as “University Visvesvaraya college of Engineering”. You have an option to choose one from the Twenty Two courses offered in ME engineering programme. There are 320 AICTE sanctioned seats for the ME Programme.
Two year postgraduate M.Arch. Programme is carried out in one of the constituent college of Bangalore University popularly known as “University Visvesvaraya college of Engineering”. There are 36 AICTE sanctioned seats for the M.Arch. Programme.
You shall be selected on the basis of the rank allotted to you after appearing in the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test conducted by Karnataka Examinations.

Bangalore University offers M.Arch programmes in following disciplines:
Eligibility Criteria for M.E/M.Arch. Programme: You need to have a B.Tech/B.E/B.Arch. degree with 50% aggregate marks from any University in India or abroad recognised by UGC/AIU. You must have a valid GATE score. If you have a valid GATE Score card you need not to appear in the “PGCET” exam.
If you are in your final year of your B.Tech/B.E you are eligible to apply for M.E Course provided that you have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the semesters/Years of Undergraduate Examination conducted so far.
For SC/ST students you need to have 45%aggregate in all the semesters/Years of Undergraduate Examination conducted by a UGC/AIU approved university.
Application fees for B.Tech Programme: Rs.650/- for General Category and Rs.500/- for SC/ST/Category I candidates.
Step 1: You need to enter all details ONLINE on http://ke.kar.nic.in .
Step 2: Please select “PGCET” and enter all the required information.
Step 3: You need to upload the scanned copy of recent passport size colour photo and signature in JPGE format.
Step 4: Please download and print out the bank Challan form and fill the fees accordingly from any of the branches of the specified banks.
Step 5: You need to download, print and attest the application form from the Principal of the college that you last attended. Do not forget to affix a recent size photograph, signature and left thumb impression on the space provided.
Note: You need to produce this form at the time of verification along with the bank Challan form.
If you have a valid GATE Score card you need not to appear in the “PGCET” exam.
If you have a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Exam) score you shall be given preference while admission. However, if you do not have a Valid GATE Score card, you need to appear in the “PGCET” and your admission will depend upon the rank that you get in “PGCET”.
Reservation Policy: There are two types of reservation policy under PGCET for admission to ME and M.Arch courses.
Reservation for Physically Disabled Special Category: Any candidate who have 40% or more physical disability is eligible for the reservation under this category. All you need is to produce a medical certificate issued by a government hospital of Karnataka. You also need to be present on the specific date allotted to you by the medical board for your verification of the medical certificate. According to the Government norm 3% seats are reserved under Physically Disabled Special Category.
Reservation for Reserved category Students: This type of reservation is applicable only for Karnataka Candidates. You need to produce a Caste Certificate as well as an Income Certificate issued by concerned Jurisdictional Tahasildar. The annual income limit is Rs. 6 lakhs per annum for claiming reservation benefits. 70% seats are reserved for local Candidates of Karnataka.
