JSS  University various super special and research programmes in various disciplines which are as follows:

  • M.Ch.

Research courses:

  • M.Phil.
  • Ph.D.

Admission to the abovementionedprogrammes is through written examination and interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Master of Chirurgiae [M.Ch] (Urology)


  • Candidates must possess MS degree in Surgery with permanent registration with Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.

M.Phil. – (2 years, 10 seats):


  • Candidates must possess master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Psychosocial Rehabilitation or its equivalent from a recognized university with 55% marks for other categories and 50% marks from SC/ST/OBC.

Ph.D. – (3 years):

Medical higher specialities:


  • Candidates must possess MD/DM/MS/MCH/National Board Diploma in different branches/specialties

Dental higher specialities:


  • Candidates must possess MDS degree in different branches/specialties



  • Candidates must possess M.Pharm. degree in different branches/specialties

Indian Medicine:


  • Candidates must possess MD degree in different branches/specialties



  • Candidates must possess M.Phil/M.Sc. degree in different branches/specialties



  • Candidates must possess MPT in different branches/specialties

Occupational Therapy:


  • Candidates must possess MOT in different branches/specialties

Public Health:


  • Candidates must possess MPH in different branches/specialties

DM [Neurology] & DM [Gastroenterology]


  • Candidates must possess MD degree in General medicine with permanent registration with Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.

Application Process

M.Ch & M.Phil/Ph.D in Medicine

  1. Candidates can register themselves by downloading online application form through university website and must send the application form along with processing fees of Rs.500/- for M.Phil. through a DD in favour of JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSURU payable at MYSURU.
  2. Candidates can also obtain application form and Brochure by sending application fee of Rs.100/- through a DD in favour of JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSURU payable at MYSURU.
  3. Attested copies of the following documents enclosed with application form in the following order:


  1. S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
  2. P.U.C./Equivalent examination marks card.
  3. Graduation marks cards (each year/semester)
  4. Post graduate marks cards (if applicable)
  5. Transfer Certificate 6. Migration Certificate
  6. Conduct Certificate
  7. Experience Certificate (if applicable)
  8. Photo identity (e.g. passport/voters card/pan card/driving license)
  9. Three passport size photographs of which one to be affix to the application form in the space provided

Enclosures for Ph.D.:

  1. His / Her academic qualifications.
  2. Details of previous research experience.
  3. Full particulars of publications if any.
  4. The broad field or the interdisciplinary field in which the candidate intends to do research work.
  5. The subject of research, related to the main branch of knowledge chosen for the post graduation in which the candidate has qualified.
  6. Name of the recognized guide selected.
  7. Name of the co-guide, if any.
  8. No objection certificate from the head of the department and the head of the institution where the research work is proposed to be done.
  9. Ethical Committee Clearance certificates.

Selection Process

M.Ch & M.Phil/Ph.D in Medicine

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit obtained at the university entrance exam and performance of the candidate during interview conducted by Ph.D. Admission Committee of the University.


  • 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign National/ PIO.
  • 5% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.


  • Application received after last date will be rejected.
  • Application form should be submitted as “Download Hard Copy” only.


  • Hostel facility is available for boys and girls and hostel fees is charged separately
