Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara University, also known by the abbreviation  JSS University  , is a deemed university located in the city of Mysore, in the Indian state of Karnataka. It was established in 2008. JSS University is focussed on medical and health-related studies, and comprises JSS Medical College, JSS Dental College and JSS College of Pharmacy at the main campus in Mysore as well as a second pharmacy college in Ootacamund, in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. Only candidates with the relevant qualifying degree can register for the above mentioned programmes. Seats are reserved for people belonging to different categories such as SC/ST/BC etc.

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the application form (offline/online) and submitting the required processing fee, on or before due date. Admission to the above programs is based on marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying degree examination, Entrance examination followed by counselling.

Eligibility Criteria



  • Minimum 40% marks in in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English in PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent.

Diploma in Pharmacy [D.Pharma]


  • English in PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent.
  • *For SC/ST there is a relaxation of 5%

Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm] & Pharm.D

Eligibility - Pharm.D and B.Pharm (Lateral Entry)

  • Minimum 40% marks in in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English in PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent /Pass in D.Pharm examination from PCI approved institution.
  • *For SC/ST there is a relaxation of 5%

Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate)


  • Pass in B.Pharm from the recognized University and approved by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.

Application Process

Pharm.D , Diploma in Pharmacy [D.Pharma] & B.Pharm

  • Candidates must apply for admission through online/offline (by post or in person from the university office) registration process and submit completed application before due date. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

Candidate should log on to the university website and follow the given steps:

  1. Visit university website and downloaded the application form.
  2.  Submission of the application form by post or in person along with Photographs and other enclosures on or before scheduled date.
  3. The downloaded application and printed application form should be sent along with a processing fee only by way of Demand Draft (DD) in favour of JSS University Fee Account, Mysore, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed.
  4. Applicants may also obtain the application form along with the Brochure by sending an application fee of Rs.200/-only by way of Demand Draft (DD) favouring “JSS University FEE Account”, Mysore payable at Mysore.
  5. Send the completed application with requisite annexure and fees super scribed clearly on the outside of the envelop “Application for desired course name” to The Registrar, JSS  University, JSS Medical Institution Campus, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysore, Karnataka – 570015.

Selection Process

Pharm.D , Diploma in Pharmacy [D.Pharma] & B.Pharm

Students will be admitted to the said courses in the constituent college of JSS University on the basis of the rank list prepared by the University from marks secured in qualifying examinations in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority  followed by counselling.


  • 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign students.
  • 15% of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference.


Hostel facility: Hostel facility is available both for boys and girls. The candidates desirous of seeking admission to hostels will have to apply in prescribed form. The hostel fees shall be charged separately.


JSS endows the following scholarships to its deserving candidates:

  1. SC/ST Welfare and Backward Class Scholarships
  2. Scholarships given by Govt. of India.
