Anna University Distance Education MBA and MCA Admissions 2020: Courses, Application Form, Result

Anna University invites application forms from eligible candidates for admission to MBA and MCA programs offered by university’s Centre for distance education (CDE). Duration of MBA and MCA programs is 2 years and 3 years respectively.  The basic minimum eligibility for admission to both the courses is graduate. For MBA program, applicant should just be a graduate from a recognized university irrespective of the discipline whereas, for MCA program, one should be a graduate in the related field.

Selection to both MCA and MBA program is done on the basis of a valid score in Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET) 2020. The application form is common for both the courses, candidates may choose to apply online or offline. The offline application form and the prospectus can be obtained from the CDE. Application Process

  1. The application form and prospectus can be downloaded from the official website of Centre for Distance Education (CDE)
  2. Aspirants can obtain the same in person from the Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai -600025 by paying INR 650 in cash.
  3. Application form can also be obtained in person from the following Study Centres located in Coimbatore, Madurai, Trichy, and Nagercoil at a payment of INR 650 in cash.
  4. The cost of application form is Rs.650/- payable in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the “The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai-600025” payable at Chennai.

Note: In the case of Downloaded Application Form candidate must enclose a DD of INR 650 along with the completed application form. 

Documents Required

The Xerox of the following certificates are to be enclosed with the application (Originals should not be enclosed)

  • SSLC or its equivalent
  • HSC or its equivalent
  • Diploma Certificate – (if applicable)
  • Degree Certificate (or) Provisional Certificate
  • Mark Sheets of all semesters / Years of the Bachelor Degree Examinations based on which admission is sought.
  • Transfer and Conduct Certificate from the
  • Institution last Studied
  • AMIE or similar Certificate – (if applicable)
  • Experience Certificate(for those with AMIE or similar qualification)
  • TANCET Mark Sheet(if applicable)
  • Photograph Card(Photograph should be affixed and the candidate should sign at the appropriate place
  • Original Demand Draft for Online application.

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • A valid score in Distance Education Entrance Test (DEET)/ TANCET.
  • The Bachelor's Degree must have been obtained after 10+2 or equivalent.

Eligibility of AMIE Candidates: 

  • Candidates with AMIE or similar qualification (2 Years of Experience) are eligible for admission to MBA/MCA Degree Program.
  • Valid score in DEET is mandatory.

Eligibility of TANCET Candidates

  • TANCET score is valid for one year from the date of Exam otherwise candidate have to appear for DEET for admission.

Selection Process

Anna University conducts DISTANCE EDUCATION ENTRANCE TEST (DEET) for admissions to MBA and MCA programs.

  • DEET is conducted twice in a year, i.e. Academic Year (AY) Batch and Calendar Year (CY) Batch and scores are valid for one year only.
  • Candidates eligible for admission will be informed through counselling call letter based on their rank obtained in the DEET/TANCET.
  • Candidates or their authorized representative should attend the counselling with all original certificates with Demand Draft towards 1st semester fee.
  • Selection is based on the marks in the Entrance Test (DEET score) / TANCET score card. 
  • Based on the rank Study Centre/Specialization will be provisionally allotted through counselling as per their choice.

Candidates admitted to MBA/MCA/M.Sc. Programs of Distance Education are not eligible for any scholarship or fee concession from Anna University.

However, differently abled persons are exempted from payment of tuition fee for which they have to produce a certificate from the Chairman, District Medical Board in the prescribed form which can either be obtained from the office of the CDE or downloaded from the Centre’s website.
