Indian Institute of Science (IISc) B.S Admissions 2020: Dates, Entrance Exam, Cut Off

Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is widely regarded as India's finest institution in the field of sciences. IISc offers BS (Bachelor of Science) course as UG Full Time Course for duration of 4 years. Selection to the BS program at IISc Bangalore is done on the basis of marks secured in Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) exam / IIT mains/ IIT advanced/ NEET. 

Aspirants must have secured 60% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects for considered to be eligible for admission. SC/ST candidates need to just passed out the qualifying examination. 

Application forms for IISc Bangalore BS program will be available from month of Febraury till April. Registrations can be done online through official website ( by paying fee of INR 500/- ( INR 250/- for SC/ST/PwD).

How to apply?

Application process for IISc BS Admission is online. One can follow the given steps in order to register himself:

  1. Visit the official Website (
  2. Click on “New User Registration” link
  3. Enter the asked details
  4. Click on “Submit” Button
  5. Verify the Email id through the link provided you via email
  6. Login to your account
  7. Enter the academic and personal details
  8. Upload the documents
  9. Enter the Qualifying Entrance test details
  10. Pay the application fee through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking
  11. Submit the application form

Note: Candidates can check the fee payment status after 24 hours of fee submission. 

Documents Required:

  • Scanned copy of candidate’s photo
  • Scanned copy of candidate’s signature
  • Scanned copy of Caste certificates

Eligibility Criteria

The 4 year Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme is organized into eight semesters. The final semester is devoted exclusively to a research project.

The following major disciplines are available in the Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Earth & Environmental Science
  • Materials
  • Mathematics
  • Physics

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A pass in +2 level examination with minimum 60% aggregate marks with Physics, Maths and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
  • SC/ST candidates just need to pass (no minimum marks).
  • Those who have studied Biology/Electronics//Statistics/Computer Science in addition to above subjects are also eligible. 

Candidates qualifying any of the Test (KVPY/JEE Main/JEE Advanced/NEET) requires to meet the specific eligibilty for the admission.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks they secured in various qualifying examinations. They will be called according to the merit prepared by the institute. There will be separate merit list for each of exams like KVPY, JEE Main and JEE Adavnced. On being selected for the admission person needs to submit the required documents for the verification.

Hi Vivek, sorry but you are not eligible for this course as only those candidates who have done intermediate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are eligible only.

I give my 12th in 2018 in which my percentage are i give my 12th again in 2019.And according to mpboard now my 2019 marksheet is valid.Did IISc also consider my 2019 as a valid marksheet. For 2020 bsc programme.

Hi Zabi, the institute will consider your latest mark sheet (which should be valid). It can be of 2018 or 2019.
