Anna University MBA Eligibility Criteria

MBA aspirants seeking admission at Anna University must qualify the following eligibility criteria-

Candidates must have passed in a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with at least 50 % (45 % in case of candidates belonging to reserved category- BC/BCM/MBC/SCA/SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.
Candidates must have passed 10+2+3 or 4 or 5 year’s pattern or 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern or B.E. / B. Tech. / B.Arch. / B. Pharm.
AMIE with 2-years of regular full-time Teaching experience / Industrial experience in the relevant field after completing the course including project work.
Candidates appearing for their final semester examinations of the qualifying degree may also apply for TANCET.
Other state candidates can also appear for the entrance test, for which the eligibility conditions will be decided by the admission committee.

Anna University MBA Selection Process

Candidates should be selected on the basis of the score obtained in TANCET.
Candidates who had qualified CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, GMAT, GATE, GRE, CMAT exams will be exempted from the entrance exam.
After the exam, qualified candidates can apply for the MBA program.
The candidate’s selection list will be displayed on the official website of the University.
Selected candidates can take admission on the required date.

About TANCET MBA Exam

TANCET MBA is a state level examination, conducted for admission to MBA programs of Institutes accepting TANCET MBA score in the state of Tamil Nadu. TANCET MBA 2021 is expected to be held in the last week of February. Read this complete article to know in detail about the exam pattern of TANCET MBA, syllabus, and marking scheme.

TANCET is a pen-paper test and the duration of the exam is 120 minutes. Each question has a weightage of 1 mark. For every incorrect answer, 1/3 marks are deducted. The question paper for all the courses will follow a different structure and syllabus. The exam will be conducted in two languages- English and Tamil (except the General English section).

TANCET Exam Pattern:

The question paper of TANCET MBA 2021 will be divided into five sections to assess students on the following:

In the TANCET application form, there is an option to choose the exam center on the basis of factors like distance and traveling time to the respective TANCET exam center. Candidates are requested to select only one exam center along-with the correct code while filling the application form. The final allotted exam center is mentioned on the TANCET Admit Card.

How to Apply for Anna University Chennai?

A candidate seeking admission, have to register themselves on the official website of TANCET, here is the detail following steps for same:

Registration:

Visit the official website of TANCET.
On the left side of the window, click on the “TANCET” link. TANCET Registration is depicted in the picture below, for clear understanding.
Click on “New User Registration” link.
Enter your Name, Mobile Number, Email Address, and Password.
Now, click on “I Agree” button in the declaration box. It is compulsory as, without the declaration, the form will not be submitted.
Click on the “Submit” button at the end of the form.

How to fill the Application Form?

Candidates should first login to fill TANCET application form.
Carefully fill all the details such as personal details and academic details.
Select the exam center and course for which you want to apply.
Upload your recent passport size photograph in JPEG/JPG format.
Pay the Application Fee
Verify all the details filled by them before submitting the application form.
Note down the application number that will be generated after the successful submission of the TANCET Application Form.
Candidates are advised to take a print out of the application form for future use.

Anna University Reservation

Following reservation are applied at Anna University:

There is a 5% marks relaxation in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category.
Also, there is relaxation for backward classes, Scheduled Caste, and Scheduled Tribe in TANCET Cut off.
For the reserved category, the application fees for TANCET will be half of the General category.
Seats shall be allocated based on the following rules of reservation:

Ques. Am I eligible if I am currently doing the final year of my degree course.?

Ans. You are eligible only if you complete your degree by April-May 2020 and you are in a position to submit your provisional/degree certificate by July 2020.

Ques. What is the fees structure for MBA in Anna University?

Ans. The fee for the MBA program at Anna University is INR 41,000/- per annum, and the total program fees are INR 82,000/-.

Ques. What is the process of selection in the MBA program at Anna University?

Ans. The selection of candidates to the MBA Program is made on the basis of one’s performance in the TANCET exam conducted by the university. While the university also accepts scores of National level management aptitude tests.

Ques. Am I eligible for MBA if I have completed 10th standard and then done a 2 year Diploma Program?

Ans. Yes, there is negative marking for every wrong answer. The total score shall be deducted by ⅓ marks for every incorrect answer.

It is one of the top universities in the country with a great alumni background. A very impressive campus and of course a very spectacular social life. I, being a student from the central board (CBSE) had a mindset that getting into such a university was impossible because of my cut off marks. Yes, and that's how the admission takes place, the admission procedure is a long process taken into consideration based on the board cut off marks. Students interested in taking major departments like CSE, EEE, Civil, Mech., should have a minimum cut off above 187 in the respective boards. The counseling is entirely online and usually occurs in the month of July. I preferred this college over NIT because of the college's remarkable alumni and campus life.
