Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) is a public university having with 18 schools, 72 departments and 109 affiliated colleges which offers multiple courses and admits about 130,000 students every year.

Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) offers the following courses at post-graduate (PG) and PG Diploma level in various disciplines:

PG Programme:

• Master of Arts (M.A.)
• Master of Science (M.Sc.)
• Master of Computer Application (MCA)
• Master of Commerce (M.Com.)
• Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Admission to the above mentioned programmes is done only through marks secured by the candidate in the university entrance examination. For SC/ST candidates, minimum required aggregate is 50% for admission to PG courses.

Interested candidates can apply for admission to PG courses should fill the online application form available on the university website and send it along with the registration fee and relevant certificates within the stipulated date.

For applying to PG programmes of the MKU University, the candidate should follow the given procedure:

• Candidate should fill the prescribed application form available on the university website and send it along with the registration fee and relevant certificates before the last date
• Registration fees for PG Programmes is Rs. 300/- which should be submitted through demand draft (DD) only
• Students should write their name, complete address and course for which they applied in Block letters on the reverse side of the demand draft
• Separate application form should be filled by candidate if they wish to apply for more than one course. Students belonging to states other than Tamil Nadu are treated as ‘Other Communities’
• Photo copies of all the certificates along with application form should be in English only and must be sent to the following address:

Enclosures:

Along with the application forms, candidates have to submit photo copies, attested by the Gazetted officer, of the following certificates:

1. SSLC,HSE mark statement
2. U.G./P.G. Degree Marks statement /Grade certificates/ Provisional Certificate
3. Community certificate obtained from Tahsildar concerned otherwise it will not be taken into account.
4. Income Certificate obtained 3 months prior to the date of advertisement (for SC/ST/Blind candidates only)
5. Certificate of Physically Challenged / Leprosy cured if anyone has.
6. Sports Certificate.
7. Ex-Servicemen Certificate
8. +2 marks statement (compulsory)
9. Two self-addressed stamped (Rs.10/-) envelope
10. SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of Registration Fee for only one course.
11. Two recent passport size photographs

M.Sc. Chemistry:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc. degree in Chemistry/ special chemistry/ applied chemistry with Physics Maths, Botany or Zoology with 55% of total marks.

M.Sc. Mathematics:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc. degree in Maths/ special maths/ applied science with at least 55% of total marks in part III.

M.Sc. Physics:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in Physics/ applied physics with 55% of total marks in part III.

M.Sc. Botany:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in relevant discipline.

M.Sc. Zoology:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc. degree in relevant discipline.

M.Sc. Computer science:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc. degree in computer science/maths/physics/applied science or BCA/B.Sc (IT) with +2 level maths and should have 55% aggregate marks in part III.

M.Sc. Psychology:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in relevant discipline.

M.Sc. Hotel management and Catering Sciences:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in relevant discipline.

M.Sc. Nutrition and Food Technology:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in relevant discipline.

M.Sc. Tourism and Hospitality Management:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in relevant discipline.

M.Sc. Electronics & Communication:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc Electronics & Communication degree in Physics / Computer Science / Computer Application / Electronic Science / Applied Science.

M.Sc. (Tourism & Hospitality Mgmt.) - Lateral Entry:

Eligibility: Candidate must possess any bachelor’s degree or 3-year diploma in hotel management & Catering Technology.

M.Sc. (Geography):

Eligibility: Candidate must possess degree in B.A/B.Sc geography with 50% total marks in part III.

M.Sc. (Environmental Sciences):

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc degree in any branch of life science ((Biology/ Bio-chemistry/ Botany/ Zoology/ Bio-technology/ Physics/ Chemistry, Microbiology and Environmental Science) with at least 50% marks aggregate in all categories.

M.Sc. (Earth Remote Sensing and Geo. Information Technology):

Eligibility: Candidate must possess B.Sc. degree in any subject B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch/ Bachelor of Town and Country planning with at least 50% marks in part III.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of their marks secured in the university entrance examination only
