Alliance University Ph.D. Admission 2019: Placement, Cut Off, Result, Fees

Alliance University, Karnatakaprovides Ph.D. in management and Law for which applications are available in the month of March. Ph.D. in management is available in different specializations for which selection is made through GMAT/CAT/AAT exams whereas for Ph.D. in law candidates are required to appear for ACLAT exam. For Ph.D. programme candidates are also required to send a research synopsis to the University which is evaluated by the University for the Admission. Alliance University considers extracurricular activities and work experience to select students for Ph.D. programme. University provides Bridge courses for those candidates who do not have MBA but wants to go for Ph.D. in management. Candidates have the option to either download the application form or get it by person from the University. Ph.D. in management is provided by the Alliance School of Business in different specializations.

Duration: 2 years


  • Master’s degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks from a recognised University. SC/ST candidates require 50% marks in the master’s degree.
  • Candidates should have 2 years of work experience.

NOTE: Those candidates who do not have an MBA are required to do the Bridge Course from Alliance University with the following specializations to go for the Doctoral programme in management.

Doctor of Philosophy in Law

Ph.D. in Law is provided by the Alliance School of Law.

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Master’s degrees in LLM from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% are eligible for the course. SC/ST candidates are required to score 50% marks.

Application Process

  • Candidates can fill the form by going to for Ph.D. in law and for Ph.D. in Management.
  • Application form can also be obtained from the Office of Admissions, Alliance university by paying the application fee in the form of Cash or Demand Draft drawn in the favour of ”Alliance university” payable  at Bengaluru.

NOTE: Application fee is INR 3000 for Indian citizens and US$ 100 for foreign nationals.

Admission Process

M.Phil/Ph.D in Management & M.Phil/Ph.D in Law

  • For Ph.D. in management, candidates are required to appear in Alliance Aptitude test (AAT) conducted by the University itself. Marks scored in GMAT/CAT are also considered for the selection of candidates.
  • For Ph.D. in law, candidates are required to appear for Alliance Common Law Admission test (ACLAT) exam conducted by the Alliance University.
  • After qualifying the exams candidates are required to appear for an interview.
  • Evaluation of the research synopsis is also made by the University for considering the admission.

University also considers scholastic, extracurricular record and work experience for admission to Ph.D. programme.


  • Merit based:

University provides scholarship to candidates on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exams.

Minimum 90% marks in 10th and 12th: 25% waiver in tuition fees.

Minimum 85% marks in 10th and 12th: 20% waiver in tuition fees.

Score of 90 percentile or above in entrance test: 20% waiver in tuition fees.

99 percentile in CAT or a score of 725 and above in GMAT: 100% waiver in tuition fees. (For MBA only)

  • Sports Quota:

Those candidates who have played sports on National level will get 20% waiver in tuition fee.

  • Differently able:

Those differently able candidates who have scored 60% marks or more in 10th, 10+2 and in graduation are subjected to get a 30% of waiver in tuition fee.

  • SC/ST candidates:

SC/ST candidates with minimum of 70% in 10th, 10+2 and in graduation are subjected to get 25% of waiver in tuition fee.
