Periyar University is accepting applications for admission to MA / M.Sc / M.Tech / MBA / MCA / B.Voc / M.Com / M.Ed programs upto October 17, 2020. Applicants must send their applications to their respective Department HODs on or before the application deadline. The admission process has been delayed for 2020 session due to COVID-19 restrictions across the nation.
Periyar University, Salem came into existence on 17th September 1997, established by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu. This UGC recognized university is accredited with B+ Grade by NAAC. It imparts higher education at three levels, i.e., through its Departments of Study and Research, Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE) and the affiliated colleges. The established Departments, Centres, Institutes and Chair are contributing their best through academic, research and extension activities. At present, the University has 29 Departments and 5 Centers.
Periyar University invites applications for admission to post-graduate degree programs from candidates, who have completed their graduation in the related field of interest. Candidates appearing for their final term/semester examination may also apply.

The PG programs offered by the university have two modes of selection. There is an entrance test for some courses while for the rest the selection is based on marks scored by the candidate in the qualifying degree examination.
The application form along with the prospectus can be obtained in two different ways, here’s how:
Candidates are advised to go through Periyar University PG Admission Prospectus prior to filling up their application forms. It is also advised to try filling up a Xerox copy of the application form, in order to eradicate any trace of error while filling up the Periyar University PG Application Form.
The form must be complete in all aspects, incomplete applications forms will be summarily rejected without any entertainment. You will need to fill up separate application form in case, applying for more than one course.
You will also need to attach self-attested copies of Mark Sheets of the qualifying degree examination along with the application form. If you completed you qualifying degree or bachelor’s degree from a different university (Other than Periyar University), then you will also need to submit their eligibility certificate, which can be obtained from Periyar University.

SC/ST candidates are exempted from the payment of the Application/Registration fee for any one of the program. For every additional program applied, the application fee should be paid separately along with a separate application form.

Periyar University complies with the reservation criteria laid down by the Governmant of Tamil Nadu and MHRD, Government of India. So, here are a few points to remember by candidates looking to take up admission to PG Programs offered by Periyar University:
Admission to Master’s degree programs are based on the marks obtained in both the qualifying examinations and the entrance examination. Entrance examination will be conducted by the respective Departments for each different course which would also intimate the result to the candidates.
