Hindustan Institute of Technology and Technology (HITS), also known as Hindustan University, Chennai which provides various undergraduate, post-graduate, diploma, and pioneering research studies through Ph.D., M.S. (by research) and M.Phil. programmes.
It has collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology, Aeronautical Research & Development Board, Indian Space Research Organisation, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Resources and Defence Research & Development Organisation, Naval Research Board, Department of Electronics, IGCAR, Atomic energy agencies and other organizations which support the institution either by giving funds for research projects or providing technical support for tackling the challenging research issues of national interest.
HITS invites applications for Ph.D., MS and M. Phil. Programmes which must be downloaded from the college website and sent back to the university before the last date for submission.

Hindustan University offers MS programme in the following disciplines:
Candidate must have the minimum educational qualification mentioned below or any other equivalent qualification as approved by the Board of Management:
For Engineering / Technology: Candidate must have a B. E. / B. Tech. or A. M. I. E. / A. M. Ae. S. I. or M. Sc. in relevant subjects.
For Management Science: Candidate must have a Master's Degree in Commerce / Economics / Psychology / Statistics / Applied Mathematics or B.E. / B. Tech. in any branch engineering.
Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination mentioned above with first class. If no class was awarded in the qualifying examination then you should have obtained a minimum of 60 percent marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a ten-point scale.
If candidates have a teaching or industrial experience of more than six years, you may be admitted with a second class or a minimum of 55 percent marks is permissible.
For S.C. / S.T. candidates: Second class with a minimum of 55 percent marks is permissible.M.Phil/Ph.D in Engineering , M.Phil/Ph.D in Architecture & M.Phil/Ph.D in Science
At the time of admission, candidate must have passed postgraduate degree in the related branch of study.
Nationality: Both Indian and foreign nationals are allowed.

Note: Candidates must have a working knowledge of English. No scholarship / fellowship for the NRI / Foreign Nationals.

For full time scholars with or without fellowship:
For Part Time Internal Scholars: Open to employees of HITS subject to rules and regulations of the University.
For Part Time External Scholars: Open to employees of private and public sector organizations or Institutions having R & D infrastructures and recognized by AICTE / UGC.
Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination mentioned above with first class. If the candidate is not awarded a class, he/she must have scored either a minimum of 60% of marks, a CGPA of 6.5 on a ten scale, but these will not be required if the qualifying degree is MS (By research).
For M.A. (English) Degree holders, the minimum marks required are 55%.
If candidates have a teaching or industrial experience of more than six years, a first class in either bachelor's level or master's level is permissible.
For S.C. / S.T. candidates: second class with a minimum of 55 percent marks is permissible.

If candidates possess the educational qualifications as given above, they are called for an interview and / or test by the Dean PG Research Office. No TA will be paid for attending interview/tests. But if you are a foreign national, you may be considered without an interview or test.
Based on the academic records and performance in the interview/test, the selection committee will recommend to the Dean (Research), the names of the candidates found suitable for admission to the programme. Admission offer will be issued by the Admission Office.
The reservation policy of the institute will be as per the norms prescribed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
