International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) is a public university, established in 1956 in Mumbai, earlier known as International Institute for Population Studies. Besides teachings and research activities, university also provides consultancy to the Government and Non-Government organizations and other academic institutions.
The university offers the following research programmes to its students:
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) – 1 year
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) – 3 years
Admission of candidates to M.Phil/Ph.D. programmes is done on the basis of their performance in written test and personal interview. Candidates who wish to apply can register themselves by submitting completed applications, along with the processing fees of Rs. 500/- and all the necessary enclosures. For SC/ST/PH candidates, there is no processing fee.
Candidates must possess master’s degree in Population Studies/Demography/M.Sc. (Biostatistics and Epidemiology) from a recognized university with at least 55% aggregate marks in all subjects
Candidate’s age should not be more than 30 years on or before June 30, 2017
Ph.D. (Population Studies)
Candidates must possess M.Phil degree in Population Studies or Master's degree in Population Studies or M.Sc. in Bio-Statistics and Epidemiology of a recognised university with at least 55% of aggregate marks in all subjects.

Candidates can obtain the application form and prospectus in person or through post by sending a self-addressed Rs. 50/- stamped envelope on or before March 25, 2018 (tentative), to the following address:

Candidates can register themselves by submitting duly filled-in applications and all the necessarily enclosures, along with the fee of Rs. 500/- through DD drawn from any nationalised Bank in favour of “The Director, IIPS, Mumbai” to the Assistant Registrar (Academic). Candidates can also submit the processing fee in cash at the university cash counter.
