MAHE provides PG programs in over 28 different streams for which it follows different modes to select candidates. Admission to the courses is granted on the basis of Entrance test or Merit followed by an Interview and Group discussion. The eligibility criteria differs for each and every course.

The date for submission of the application form and commencement of classes are varying according to the courses. Application for these programs can be made through online mode for which candidates are required to visit the University website and are required to keep a scanned copy of the photograph and signature.
Application form fee is different for Indian nationals and internationals candidates which can be done through Net banking/Credit card/Debit card.

Few courses have some special privileges for candidates, in such cases, candidates are required to present relevant documents along with the application form. MAHE also provides financial aid and scholarship to deserving candidates for which, they have different criteria.

At the PG level, MAHE offers a plethora of specializations under the discipline of Engineering and Technology, Management, Computer Applications, Design and Architecture.

MAHE offers M.Arch. with Urban Design Development for a duration of 2 years. Check- B.Arch. and M.Arch. Admissions

M.Tech. is offered under 26 Specializations whereas M.E. is offered with 11 specializations. MBA is offered under three areas of discipline, namely-

MAHE PG Admission: MTech, MBA, MCA, M.Des., M.Arch. Selection Criteria

Admission to M.E/M.Tech./M.Des./MArch. Sustainable Development will be granted on the basis of the Manipal Entrance Test (MET), Although weightage will be given to GATE qualified candidates. Check- M.Tech and MCA Admissions 

Admission to MBA will be granted on the basis of the candidate's performance in CAT. Check- BBA & MBA Admissions

Admission to M.Des. Interior Design and MCA is done solely on the basis of merit.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) also offers MSc (Medical/Non-Medical), MPT, MOT, MSc (Nursing), MD/MS, and MPharm courses in various specializations in full-time mode. Check- MD & MS Admissions

Note: Those candidates who want to study MPT in Sports and Clinical Biomechanics are required to score at least 50% marks in BPT and IELTS score band of 7 to be eligible for the Master's program.

MD/MS Eligibility: Pass in MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India. 

MDS Eligibility: Pass in BDS.

M.Com. Eligibility: Those candidates who have a bachelor degree in management/commerce from a recognized University are eligible for the M.Com programme.

Masters in Library and Information Sciences is provided by the Department & Library & Information science. M.Lib.I. Sc also has the mode of lateral entry admission in which candidates can get admission to the second year of the course. Only those candidates are eligible who have done B.Lib.I.Sc from a recognised college.

MHA Eligibility: Pass with a Bachelor's Degree in Health sciences / MBBS/ BDS / Allied Health Sciences streams from a recognized university with minimum 55 % aggregate marks or equivalent

MAHE PG Admission: Selection Criteria

Admission to the following courses is done on the basis of MET:

  • All MSc (Medical) Programs, All Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) Programs, MSc Clinical Psychology, MSc Audiology, MSc Speech-Language Pathology, MSc Medical Biotechnology, MSc Molecular Biology & Human Genetics, MSc Clinical Virology, All Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) programs, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Post Baccalaureate, MSc Stem Cell Technology & Regenerative Biology.
  • MA Media & Communication, MA Film Art & Film Making

Admission to the following courses is done on the basis of the National Entrance Test: All Doctor of Medicine (MD) / Master of Surgery (MS) / PG Diploma Programs, All Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) / PG Diploma Programs, PG Diploma in Cellular & Molecular Diagnostics.

Admission to the rest of the courses mentioned above is granted on the basis of merit secured in the last qualifying exam.

Application Process

Candidates can apply for the programme by visiting the Manipal University website. There are two different sections for application, one is for the Indian admissions and another is for international admissions.

For the Indian admissions, the application fee is INR 600 and the entrance test fee is INR 1400. For the foreign nationals, the application fee is INR 2500. 

Admission to the following courses is through the Manipal Entrance Test (MET).

  • Master of Physiotherapy

  • All Master of Technology (MTech) Programs
  • All Master of Engineering (ME) Programs
  • All Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) Programs

The application can be submitted by following the simple steps:

  • Register by creating your log-in credentials.
  • Select the category.
  • Fill in the Basic information including personal details, course details, and location.
  • Select the program and make the online payment for that program.
  • Submit the contact details through which the University can communicate.
  • Submit the Educational Details.
  • Read the Declaration.
  • Proceed to the Payment section.

Payment of application fee can be done through Credit card/Debit card/Net banking.  
The candidate has to upload certain documents as per the requirements.

Scholarship and Financial Aid

Financial Aid:

The State Bank of India provides financial support to those students who are meritorious but lags on financial aspects.

Bank provides a loan of INR 7.5 lakhs to deserving candidates without any security. This amount may be extended to INR 30 lakhs if candidates produce something as a security for the money taken as loan.  Bank allows the repayment of a loan by the candidate for up to 12 years.

Parent’s annual Income scholarship:

  • Up to INR 3 lakhs: 100%
  • 3 lakhs to 5 lakhs: 90%
  • 5 lakhs to 7.5 lakhs: 75%
  • 7.5 lakhs to 10 lakhs: 50%
  • 10 lakhs to 12.5 lakhs: 25%
  • Above 12.5 lakhs: 10%


  • Those candidates, who are eligible for a 100% scholarship, should have to pay 5% of the annual fee or 5% of family annual income, whichever is less.
  • To claim for the scholarship candidates are required to provide an attested copy of Income Tax return of parents’ income.
  • The scholarship does not contain hostel fees, expenses on books, etc.

Konkani speaking students:

There is also a provision of providing scholarship to those candidates who have linguistic command on Konkani language. They are provided with a waiver of 10% in the course fee.
