Manipal University (MU) MD and MS Admission 2020: Application form, Entrance Exam, Fees

MD, MS, M.Ch and M.Pharm are provided by Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University in different specialisation. Application for MD and MS is to be submitted through NEET PG exam. Students must appear for the NEET exam, as on the basis of NEET PG score admission will be granted. Application can be made through online mode. The university offers MS and MD for a duration of 3 year. Admission for NRI candidate is even granted on the basis of NEET score. 

University offers MD in 18 specialisation- Radiodiagnosis, Radiotherapy MD Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry,Pharmacology, Physiology, Community Medicine Immunohaematology & Blood Transfusion, , Hospital Administration,Microbiology, Paediatrics, Pathology, , Dermatology Venereology & Leprosy, Forensic Medicine, General Medicine, Psychiatry, Respiratory Medicine, 

University offers MS in five specialisation- General surgery, Oto rhino Laryngology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Opthalmology, and Orthopaedics. 

For MD and MS courses, seats are reserved for those selected under the Directorate of Medical Education and for those candidates who are interested to serve as a teaching faculty for a minimum period of 3 years. University also has a tie up with the State bank of India, which provides education loan facility to deserving candidates. Apart from financial aid, University also provides scholarship to candidates.

Eligibility Criteria


Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) are provided by the Kasturba Medical College in different specializations.

Duration: 3 years

  • Candidates must have done MBBS from any University recognised by the Medical Council of India.
  • Foreign nationals/NRI supported by the Indian relatives can also apply under foreign/NRI category.

Note 1: Foreign nationals/NRI supported by cousin brother/sister, aunt, uncle brother / sister-in-law or any other person will not be accepted.

Note 2: Duration for those candidates who have a diploma in same specialisation is 2 years.


M.Pharm is provided by the Manipal Institute of Pharmaceutical sciences in different specializations.

  • Candidates having MS in general surgery from any college/University recognised by the Medical Council of India are eligible for the programme.
  • Candidates should have a permanent registration from Medical Council of India.

Application Process

MS , MD & M.Pharm

Candidates can apply for the programme by the central counselling of NEET. Students qualifying NEET or with a relevant score can apply for the MD and MS courses of Manipal university from the official website of NEET PG. 

Admission Process

Students need to appear for the NEET PG exam which is held in the first week of January. On the basis of score obtained in the NEET exam students will be granted admission and they have to enroll through the central counselling.
