MAHE provides M.Phil, Ph.D. at doctoral level. The university offers D.Pharm as a diploma program. Ph.D program is offered broadly in 3 departments at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, namely

  1. Biological Sciences/ Health Sciences/ Life Sciences
  2. Humanities and Social Sciences
  3. Science Technology/ Management.

M.Phil is offered in  Psychiatric Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Nursing, and Stem Cell & Regenerative Biology. 

Applicants with at least 60% marks in the last qualifying exam will be considered for admission to M.Phill. Selection will be on the basis of the Departmental Test followed by Personal Interview.

The eligibility of Ph.D program is at least 60% of marks, or equivalent CGPA at postgraduate level and selection will be on the basis of a valid score in MAHE Ph.D Online Entrance Test. Candidates holding a valid JRF/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE score are exempted from the entrance test.

Candidates applying for MAHE D. Pharma should have at least 55% marks in 10+2 (PCB) and selection will be on merit basis of the last qualifying examination.

Candidates seeking admission to these courses can apply on different dates as per University notification. Candidates can apply for these programs through online mode for which they require a scanned copy of photograph and signature. Payment for the application can be made through Net banking/Debit card/Credit card. Selection for these programs is made through an online entrance test conducted by the University. Selection for Ph.D. is made whenever the university has the research grants and needs research scholars. Application for Ph.D. is made throughout the year and is processed quarterly. MAHE M.Phil Admissions 2020

Eligibility: Those candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and English as main subjects and Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects are eligible for the course.

NOTE: Those candidates who have passed 10+2 from ‘National Open School” are not eligible for admission to D.Pharma program under the Pharmacy Act.

MAHE Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

A candidate seeking admission to the PhD. program must have an aggregate of 60%* or an equivalent grade in any of the following: 

• Postgraduate degree or equivalent from universities/institutions recognized by UGC 

• Postgraduate degree in Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences or Engineering

• MBBS or BDS or an undergraduate degree which is of at least 5 years' duration 

• Pharm. D. / Pharm. D. (Post Baccalaureate) 

    MAHE M.Phil Selection Criteria

    For admission to M.Phil Program candidates are selected o the basis of MAHE Ph.D Program Online Entrance Test.

    Candidates with UGC - CSIR - NET-JRF/ ICMR -JRF / DBT-JRF/JEST / INSPIRE Fellowship or having qualified other UGC recognized national or state level eligibility test with a valid fellowship at the time of admission are exempted from the qualifying written test conducted by MAHE.

    MAHE Ph.D Online Entrance Test

    All India level PhD online test (Computer-based test) will be conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The performance in the test will account to 70% and the interview/presentation will account to the remaining 30%.

    MAHE Ph.D. Entrance test is conducted in a duration of 2 hours. The Entrance examination will consist of MCQ type questions where each correct answer carries 04 marks and a wrong answer has 01 negative marks. The exam consists of 2 papers

    • Part 1: General paper (total questions: 50)
      • Research Aptitud- 15
      • Logic and Reasoning: 10
      • Basic Math and Statistics: 15
      • English Language: 10
    • Part 2: Subject-specific paper (total questions: 50) Student can take any of the streams mentioned below that is relevant to the Master’s program.

    MAHE Financial Aid and Scholarships 2020

    The State Bank of India provides financial support to those students who are meritorious but lags on financial aspects.

    Bank provides a loan of INR 7.5 lakhs to deserving candidates without any security. This amount may be extended to INR 30 lakhs if candidates produce something as a security for the money taken as loan.  Bank allows the repayment of loan by the candidate up to 12 years.

    NOTE: Candidates, who are eligible for 100% scholarship, should have to pay 5% of the annual fee or 5% of family annual income, whichever is less.

    Konkani speaking students:

    There is also a provision of providing scholarship to those candidates who have linguistic command on Konkani language. They are provided with a waiver of 10% in the course fee.

    Application Process

    Candidates can apply for the Ph.D, M.Phill and D. Pharma programs by visiting Manipal University website. There are two different sections for application, one is for the Indian admissions and another is for international admissions.

    Indian admissions are done for Indian nationals for whom the application fee is INR 600 and the entrance test fee is INR 1400. International admissions are done for foreign national for whom the application fee is INR 2500. Application is submitted in 5 simple steps:
