BLDE University MD and MS Admissions 2020: Courses, Application Process, Result, Fees

Established in 1910, BLDE University is a UGC certified deemed university providing quality medical education. The university association runs a total of 68 institutions in both rural and urban areas of Bijapur. All the Medical courses offered by the University are recognized by MCI i.e. Medical Council of India.

BLDE University offers the following Post graduate courses in medical stream to its students in various disciplines:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)     
  • Master of Surgery (M.S.)        
  • Master of Science (M.Sc.)      

Admission to the MD/MSprogramme is done through scores obtained in the university entrance test (BLDEU-PGET)and selection of candidates for M.Sc. programme will be done on the basis of qualifying examination merit.

Candidates can register themselves for the university entrance test by submitting concerned applications, along with the processing fee of Rs. 4000/- for MD/MS programme and Rs. 1500/- for M.Sc. programme.

How to Apply

  • For applying to MD/MS/MSc. programmes, candidates can download the prescribed application form available at the university website
  • Candidates can register themselves by submitting completed applications, along with the entrance test/application fee of Rs. 4000/- for MD/MS programmes and Rs. 1500/- for M.Sc programme
  • Fee can be submitted through online payment modes or in the form of Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of The Registrar, BLDE University” and payable at Vijayapura (Bijapur)-586103
  • Candidates must sent duly filled-in applications, along with all the necessary self-attested enclosures and processing fee, to the following address:

Enclosures to be attached with completed applications:

  1. Degree Certificate / Provisional Degree Certificate
  2. Internship Completion Certificate.
  3. Registration/Provisional Registration
  4. Attempt Certificate
  5. All marks cards including that of failed year/phase if any (First year to Final Year)
  6. The certificate issued by competent authority (English version) for candidates claiming lower eligibility under Locomotor disability / SC / ST / OBC (Karnataka) categories.
  7. Two additional copies of photographs (write your application number on the back of each photograph and attestation is not necessary).
  8. In case of Candidates who have studied outside India, then they have to enclose copies of Screening Test Result & MCI Registration certificate.

Eligibility Criteria

The university offers Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) in the following disciplines:

  1. Human Anatomy – (4 seats)
  2. Human Physiology – (4 seats)
  3. Biochemistry – (1 seats)
  4. Pathology – (11 seats)
  5. Microbiology – (2 seats)
  6. Pharmacology – (2 seats)
  7. Forensic Medicine – (2 seats)
  8. Community Medicine – (6 seats)
  9. General Medicine – (12 seats)
  10. Paediatrics – (4 seats)
  11. Dermatology – (3 seats)
  12. Anaesthesiology – (7 seats)
  13. Radiology – (4 seats)

All the above mentioned 13 disciplines under MD course have the same following eligibility:


  • Candidate must possess MBBS degree from a college recognized by Medial Council of India (MCI)
  • Candidate must pass with minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test i.e. 50% for general category candidates, 40% for SC/ST/OBC and candidates, 45% for candidates with 40 to 70% disability of lower limbs
  • Candidates should have completed their internship by April 30, 2020
  • Foreign / PIO / NRI students are exempted from BLDEU-PGET and their admission will be based on qualifying examination marks only

Reservation Criteria

15% seats are reserved for for the NRI/PIO/Foreign and 5% of the total seats are reserved for Institutional Preference/In-Service

Admission Process

Selection of the candidates to the MD/MS and M.Sc. programmes will be based on their scores in the university entrance examination (BLDEU-PGET) or qualifying examination merit.


Counselling process:

Eligible candidates for admission to the MD/MS course will be called for counselling on the basis of merit list prepared by BLDE University

Documents to be submitted at the time of counselling:

  2. BLDEU-PGET Rank Card/Call Letter.
  3. SSLC/SSC/10th class Certificate or Birth Certificate issued by the competent authority.
  4. PUC-II or 12th Standard or equivalent marks card.
  5. Marks Cards of MBBS course from 1st year to final year including marks cards of failed examinations, if failed.
  6. Attempt Certificate.
  7. Internship Completion Certificate (if not completed provisional completion letter from Dean / Principal.
  8. Provisional / Permanent Registration certificate from Karnataka Medical Council, Bangalore.
  9. Degree Certificate/ Provisional Degree Certificate.
  10. Transfer Certificate.
  11. Migration Certificate from the University.
  12. Conduct and Character Certificate from the Head of the Institute, from where the candidate has studied last.
  13. An affidavit in the format as per APPENDIX - II signed by candidate and countersigned by Parent/Guardian in the presence of Public Notary on a stamp paper of Rs. 100/-.
  14. Three Recent passport-size coloured photographs with name and date.
  15. Copy of MCI recognition certificate of the college where the student has completed the M.B.B.S. course.
  16. DD’s (of any Nationalized Bank / Scheduled Bank payable at Vijayapura (Bijapur)-586103, Karnataka) for tuition fees and other fees.
  17. Candidate and Parent PAN Card Copy.
  18. Candidates claiming Admission under Locomotor disability / SC / ST and OBC (Karnataka state only) as declared by Government of India / Karnataka shall furnish the certificates to that effect issued by the competent authority.
  19. Domicile Certificate for Karnataka OBC candidates only.
  20. Five set of self attested photocopies of the above mentioned originals arranged in same order
