Saveetha University MD and MS Admissions 2020: Courses, Application Form, Eligibility

Saveetha University has eight departments ranging from Engineering, Management to Medicine. The main objective of the university is to enrich students in every field and give the world trained professionals in all domains. With highly qualified faculty, Saveetha University has set standards of academic excellence giving great completion to many other universities in the country.

Saveetha Medical College, a constituent college of Saveetha University invites applications for the four and a half year MBBS course with one year of compulsory Resident Rotatory Internship. Application Process

Candidates can obtain the Application form in 3 ways:

  1. In person, by paying Rs. 2000 in cash
  2. By post, by sending a requisition letter and a Demand Draft for Rs. 2050 taken in favour of “Saveetha University”, payable at Chennai 
  3. By applying online

How to Apply Online:

  • Candidates can download the Application form from the website
  • Fill in the Application form with the required details. The application form should be filled in block letters in your own handwriting using blue/black ball pen. Affix a recent passport size photograph in the spaces provided in the application form.
  • Candidates must attach a Demand Draft for Rs. 1000 taken in favour of “Saveetha University”, payable at Chennai
  • Candidates must send the final Application Form along with the necessary enclosures to the following address:

Candidates need to submit original and three sets of photocopies of the following documents:

  • Mark list of HSC/10+2 or its equivalent
  • Entrance Examination hall ticket
  • Conduct Certificate from the institution last studied
  • Transfer Certificate from the institution last studied
  • Proof of Date of Birth
  • Community Certificate
  • Eligibility Certificate from this university
  • Migration Certificate (if necessary)
  • Certificate of extracurricular activities
  • Four Passport size and Three Stamp size photographs
  • Nationality Certificate and Copy of Passport and Visa (Foreign Students only)

  • Candidates must possess a degree of MBBS duly recognized by the Medical Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration from any of the state medical council of India.
  • If the candidate does not hold a recognized medical qualification for the above purpose, he/she must secure the prior approval regarding qualification by the Medical Council of India before you can be admitted to the MD/MS course.
  • Candidate must have completed CRRI.


The reservation criteria will be as per the norms prescribed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Selection Process

The admission for MD/MS degree course is based on merit depending on candidate’s performance in the entrance exam. The exam will be conducted at the main University campus.

 It will consist of one paper with 300 multiple-choice questions where each right answer carries one mark. There is no negative marking. The duration of the examination is 3 hours 30 minutes.

If the candidate qualifies, he/she will be called for the counselling process. Seat allotment will be done based on the rank list subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria.
