Yenepoya University Nursing Admissions 2019: Courses, Eligibility, Fees

Yenepoya University is a university in South Karnataka which is approved by UGC and the Ministry of Human Resource. It is the first private university in the district of Dakshin Kannada. The main aim of the university is to imbibe the best health care education, in the true spirit of global learning. It provides both under-graduation and post-graduation courses in various fields of learning.

Yenepoya University  provides three courses in nursing discipline – Basic B.Sc. Nursing, Post basic B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing. Admission in these courses is through qualifying examination and experience.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing)

One has to qualify certain eligibility criterion for getting admission in these programmes

Basic B.Sc. Nursing-

  • The candidates should have done P.U.C or 10+2 from a recognized board/university with a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (40% in case of SC/ST)
  • The candidate should have completed 17 years of age before December 31.
  • The candidates should be medically fit.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Community Health Nursing) , Master of Science [M.Sc] (Obstetrics & Gynecology Nursing) & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Psychiatric Nursing)


  • The candidate should be a registered nurse and midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
  • The candidate should have a B.Sc. Nursing degree from any recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 55%.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of one year of experience be it before or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
  • The candidate should be medically fit.

Application Process

Bachelor of Physiotherapy [BPT] , Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing) & Post Basic Bachelor of Science [P.B.B.Sc] (Nursing)

  1. Candidates can get the application form both online and offline. Application forms are available at the Office of the Registrar or can be downloaded from the official website of the university-
  2. After the application form is filled in all respects, the candidates should pay the registration fees which can be done through Demand Draft (DD) or cash at the Office of Registrar. Registration fee being INR 200.
  3. Demand draft should be made in favour of Yenepoya University, Mangalore and should be sent along with the duly filled application form to the Admission Manager, Yenepoya University-575018.
  4. The candidates should attach the following copies of documents along with the duly filled application form and demand draft:
  • Mark sheet and Certificates of 10th and 10+2.
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate
  • Eligibility Certificate
  • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST)
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Medical fitness certificate

The same original documents should be submitted in the college at the time of final admission.

Selection Process

  • After completing the registration process by filling the application form in all respects and making the registration fees, the university will generate a ranking list of the selected students.
  • The selection is entirely based on the norms of the competent authority of the university.


  • Yenepoya University has adopted two nearby villages and takes care of the health services there.
  • Hostels are provided separately for men and women with a capacity of 500.
