Yenepoya University (YU) was established in 2008 which is certified  by  NAAC with ‘A’ grade under section 3 of UGC Act 1956. The Yenepoya University is the first private University in the District of Dakshin Kannada. The university covers various aspects of the

educational arena which provide students with numerous options to explore. Main focus of the university is to give access to quality education to the students.

Yenepoya University   offers various Research programmes in many disciplines under faculties of Health & Allied Sciences which are discussed below in various disciplines:

Admission to Ph.D. programmes is through entrance exam, interview and marks secured by candidate in post graduate programme which is minimum 55% aggregate for general candidates and 50% fir SC/ST candidates.

Application Process

  1. Candidates can downlaod application form from university website  and Administrative Office of Yenepoya University.
  2. For admission in the Ph.D. programme candidate can get application form twice in a year.
  3. Candidates have to submit Rs.1000/- for application fee and candidate registration through DD/Present Check in favour of “Yenepoya University” payable at Mangaluru.
  4. Candidates have to submit application form along with all the necessary enclosures and Demand Draft to the address given below:

  1. Recent passport size photograph.
  2. Attested copy of graduate degree certificate and marks card.
  3. Attested copy of post graduate certificate and marks card.

Eligibility Criteria

The university  provides two types of Ph.D. (full time & part time) but part time Ph.D. is further divided into two types (internal & external). So the eligibility criteria for both are explained below:

  • Candidate must possess master’s degree with minimum 55% for GC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates.
  • Candidate must pass in UGC/CSIR/NET/SLET exams are exempted from appearing for the entrance test.

Full time – (5 years):

  • Candidates must possess Master’s degree in M.D. or M.S. or DNB or P.G. Diploma or MDS or M.Sc. Medical/Nursing subjects or MPT under various faculties of Yenepoya University.

Part time (Internal) – (6 years):

  • Candidates must possess master’s degree in M.D. or M.S. or DNB or P.G. Diploma or MDS or M.Sc. Medical/Nursing subjects or MPT under various faculties of Yenepoya University with minimum 55% marks for GC category and 50% marks for SC/ST Category candidates.
  • Candidate must possess one year continuous experience in regular teaching and work under the guide at least for 90 days.

Part time (External) – (6 years):

  • Candidate must possess any one of the above qualification from this university or any other recognized university.

Selection Process

  • Selection of the candidates is based on the merit in the entrance examination and interview conducted by university Ph.D. admission committee.

  • Ragging is strictly prohibited in Yenepoya institutions.
