Manipal University (MU) MBBS, BDS and B.Pharm Admissions 2020: Dates, Eligibility, Admission Process

Manipal University is a deemed university located in Manipal, Karnataka, India. The university has its branch campuses in many parts of the country (Bangalore, Mangalore, Sikkim, Jaipur) and abroad (Dubai, Malaysia and Antigua). It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Manipal University and offers around 104 courses. The university offers admission to the following UG courses:

  1. MBBS
  2. BDS
  3. B. Pharm.

Only candidates with relevant qualifying degree can register for the above mentioned programmes. Seats are reserved for people belonging to different categories such as SC/ST/BC etc. Check Manipal University Admission 2019

Candidates can register for admission by filling-in the online application form and submitting the required processing fee, on or before 8 May, 2019. Admission to the graduate programmes is based on the marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying degree examination and Entrance examination score.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria:


  • Cleared 10+2 exams or equivalent with PCB and English from a recognized Board, with a minimum 50% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology/Biotechnology.
  • For Foreign candidates, a minimum of ‘D’ grade is required individually in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology.


  • Qualified 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, English with Biology / Mathematics as optional subjects from a recognized Board.
  • For foreign candidates, The minimum grades required is an average of ‘D’ grade in PCB / PCM.
  • For B.Pharm (Lateral Entry): The candidate must pass in Diploma (Pharmacy) from a recognized institute.

Application Process

BDS , B.Pharm & MBBS

Candidates must apply for admission through an online registration process and submit a completed application. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

For admission in MBBS/BDS programme, the candidates must first appear for the NEET exam.

For B.Pharmacy the candidates must appear for the MANIPAL ENTRANCE TEST.

To register, the candidate must log on to-

  1. Create your log-in credentials.
  2. Select Category (General/FN/NRI)
  3. Provide personal details.
  4. Upload the photograph and the signature as per the instructions.
  5. Select the course.
  6. Select the test centre (for B.Pharm.)
  7. Verify the details.
  8. Submit the application.
  9. Pay the fees.

Application fee: INR. 600/-

Entrance Exam fee: INR. 1400/-

The fees can be paid through Debit/Credit card, Net-banking, UPI or through wire transaction.

After a successful transaction, the candidate can view the status of his/her application.

The candidate must upload the documents. The university will verify the documents and notify the candidate accordingly. 

Selection Process

BDS , B.Pharm & MBBS

Admission to MBBS/BDS courses will be done on the basis of the rank attained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the counseling/allotment of seats will be done by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), New Delhi

The admission process for MBBS/BDS will comprise of the following steps:

  1. One must clear theNEET exam with the minimum qualifying score.
  2. The university will prepare a merit list based on the rank secured.
  3. Followed by an online counseling session.
  4. The allotment of seats will be done by DGHS.

The candidate must pay the 1st installment fee of INR. 13,00,000/- at the time of admission.

The candidate must bring the below-mentioned documents at the time of admission.

Admission process for B.Pharmacy:

  1. The candidates must appear for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET)
  2. Admission will be based on merit.
  3. The university will prepare a list of qualified candidates.
  4. Followed by a counseling session conducted by the university.

The candidates must carry the following documents at the time of admission:

  • MET hall ticket
  • 10th standard marksheet (Original)
  • 12th standard marksheet (Original)
  • Aadhar Card (Original)
  • PAN Card of parents (Original)
  • 2 recent passport size photographs
  • 1st installment Programme Fee of INR. 2,60,000/-

The fee is to be submitted through the payee Demand Draft.


15% of seats are reserved for international students under foreign/NRI category.
