Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth is one of the renowned institutions for studies in the field of Agriculture. Since its establishment, it has aimed at educating students in varied courses related to agricultural and allied sciences. With over 20 post-graduate courses and 6 doctoral programmes, the university also has 20 research stations providing quality education to students from all over the country.

The university offers the following under-graduate courses in various disciplines:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.)

Eligible candidates can apply through the online application forms available on the official MCAER website. The university reserves 15% of the total seats for students appearing in All India Entrance Exam, conducted by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research. Remaining seats are filled on the basis of qualifying examination merit

Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc (Agriculture)

Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English or Agriculture Polytechnic

B.Sc

The university offers B.Sc. programme in the following disciplines:

  • B.Sc. in Horticulture
  • B.Sc. in Forestry
  • B.Sc. in Agri. Technology
  • B.Sc. in Fisheries

Eligibility: Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

  • B.Sc. in Home Science

Eligibility: Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Arts/ Science/ Commerce and English

BE/B.Tech

B.Tech is offered in the following disciplines:

  • B.Tech in Food Technology

Eligibility: Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English

  • B.Tech in Agricultural  Engineering

Eligibility: Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English

Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] (Agriculture)

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics and English.
  • Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Botany or Zoology instead of biology are also eligible.


How to Apply

BE/B.Tech , B.Sc & B.Sc (Agriculture)

  • Candidate can download the prospectus and concerned application form available at the official MCAER website
  • Along with duly filled-in applications, candidates have to submit application fee of Rs. 600 (Rs. 300 in case of SC/ST/OBC) through Net Banking or DD or by Challan in state bank of India branch. DD should be drawn in favour of “Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune” and payable at Pune
  • All category Candidates (including reserved & unreserved) from states other than Maharashtra must pay an application fee of Rs. 600/- through DD
  • Printout of a duly filled-in application along with recent passport size photograph and relevant documents must be sent to any of the Application Receipt Centres of the institution

Note: Candidates who have passed 10+2 with Agriculture Polytechnic must submit 2 forms. The marks of Agriculture Polytechnic should be attached to one copy and marks obtained in 12th standard should be enclosed with the second form.

Candidates have to submit application form along with the following self-attested documents:

  3. Bonafide Certificate in case of candidate admitted by ICAR quota
  4. Migration Certificate (if applicable)
  5. Domicile Certificate / Residential Certificate
  6. Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  7. 'Non-Creamy Layer Certificate' issued on or after April 01, 2016 or valid upto the date of submission of application form
  8. Certificate of ‘Project Affected Person’ issued by the District Resettlement Officer of Government of Maharashtra
  9. N.C.C. ‘B’ or ‘C’ / Air / Naval /Army wing Certificate
  10. Certificate of Games/Sports/Debate/Essay/Elocution issued by the District Sports Officer
  11. A Certificate of the Freedom Fighter of the applicant’s parents issued under the signature of the Honourable Prime Minister / Chief Minister of Maharashtra State
  12. N.S.S. Certificate issued by the Competent Authority
  13. Defence Personnel Certificate from Zilla Sainik Board
  14. ‘No-Objection Certificate’ from the Employer in case of Inservice Candidate
  15. Migrant/Displaced students from Jammu and Kashmir State should submit Certificate from the Competent Authority
  16. Certificate of Handicapped issued by the Competent Authority (if applicable)
  17. Economical Backward Class (EBC) Certificate issued on or after January 1, 2016


Admission Process

BE/B.Tech , B.Sc & B.Sc (Agriculture)

  • 15% seats of the total seats shall be reserved for admission through All India Common Entrance Test conducted by Indian Council of Agriculture Research, Delhi.
  • Rest of the 85% seats will be filled on the basis of qualifying degree merit i.e. marks obtained by the candidate in 10+2 qualifying examination.


Reservation Criteria

Major Criteria:

  • First 30% seats will be allotted to candidates who have a domicile of Maharashtra or have passed Higher Secondary School Certificate from the State of Maharashtra.
  • Rest 70% of the total capacity will be allotted to students who have passed qualifying examination from school or institution in the University area.
  • 2% seats are allotted to students from other States.

Other Criteria:

  • 30% seats are reserved for Female candidates.
  • 19% seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes.
  • 13% seats are reserved for Schedule Caste.
  • 8% seats are reserved for Nomadic Tribes.
  • 7% seats are reserved for Schedule Tribes.
  • 6% seats are reserved for Agriculturist and Children of Agriculturist who possess minimum qualification or experience in Agriculture.
