TNDALU LL.B & LL.M Admission 2020: Courses, Appliaction Form, Result

Started in 1997, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU), Chennai offers Regular, Honors & Integrated LL.B and LL.M courses under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) through Law Entrance Test. In addition to it, TNDALU also offers Ph.D. programme in full time & part time mode to its students in both, Law & Interdisciplinary areas. Separate entrance tests are conducted by university for shortlisting candidates for doctoral courses.

Candidates with the relavant qualifying degree can register for LL.B, LL.M and doctoral programmes by filling the concerned application form available at the university website. Students can also obtain the form in person from the university office. Completed applications should be submitted along with the necessary enclosures and required processing fee. Fee should be submitted through Challan only and payment thorugh any other mode will not be accepted. Check TNDALU Admission

How to Apply

Students can obtain the application form through any of the two processes given below:

In person:

  • Candidates obtain the application form in person from the university campus upon payment of INR 1000 (INR 500 for SC/ST) in cash for LL. B honors & INR 500 (INR 250 for SC/ST) for LL. B degree course.
  • Submit the completely filled-in applications along with relevant documents in person to “Principal of respective Government Law College”

Through Post:

  • To obtain the application form through post, candidate must send the requisition letter to the registrar along with the fees of INR 1100 (INR 600 for SC/ST) in cash for LL. B honors & INR 600 (INR 350 for SC/ST) in cash for LL. B degree course.
  • Send the duly filled application form along with the relevant documents to:

  • Provisional degree certificate for LL. B degree/ LL. B honors/ Integrated LL. B. (Depending upon which particular course you are going to apply)
  • Copies of SSC & HSC marks sheet along with Date of Birth certificate
  • Community certificate including SC/ST/Muslims & others
  • Special category certificate like children of Ex –Serviceman if applicable.

Note: Application Fee is required to be paid through Challan only. Fees payment through money order, cash, bank pay order, cheque will not be accepted. 

Application process for NRIs:

NRI students can also obtain the application form by paying 200 US$ as cost of application form through Demand Draft (DD). DD should be drawn in favor of The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University” and payable at Chennai.

Eligibility Criteria

Duration: 3 years           Seats: 120

Educational Qualification:

  • Students must have passed any graduate degree as; B.A/ B. Sc./ BBA/ B. Com.  Or B.Tech./ MBBS/ B. Pharma with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
  • In case of students belonging to SC/ST category, marks should not be less than 55% in aggregate.
  • NRI students also must have scored at least 55% aggregate of marks.
  • There is no age limit to pursue course in LL. B.

Reservation Criteria for LL.B, LL.M and Ph.D. Courses

  • Differently abled Students: Those students will be considered under this category whose disability level is up to 40%. In total 3% reservation, 1% each will be allotted to Orthopaedically Handicapped [OH], Hearing Impaired [HI] and Visually Impaired [VI] respectively.
  • Freedom Fighters: 1% seats are reserved for those students who claim for reservation have to show the evidence that they are the children of freedom fighters. Grand children of freedom fighters cannot claim reservation under the category of “Children of Freedom Fighters”.
  • Sports Persons: 1% seats are reserved for eminent sports person.
  • Ex-Servicemen: 1% of total available seats has been reserved for children of Ex-Serviceman.

Admission Process

  • Students will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying examination & Law Entrance test.
  • In case of tie i.e. two candidates having equal marks, the elder one will get the preference for admission.
  • Seat once allotted will not be changed under any situation.

  • Jeeva Endowment Scholarship: Will be offered to first 5 rank holders in both bachelor & master course in law.
  • Government of India SC/ST Scholarship
  • Tamil Nadu Chief Minister?s Merit Scholarship
  • Government of Tamil Nadu BC/ MBC scholarship
  • Government of India Prime Minister's Merit Scholarship
  • Scholarship for the wards of the farmers
  • Higher Education Loan to the SC/ST students provided by the Government of India.

Hi Madhu, only those students who have passed intermediate can apply for admission in LLB . Thus, you are not eligible.

Hello sir, I have completed BTech 2012 batch now i have decided to join at LLB program for that i applied at Dr Ambedkar law University. In this university they will not conduct any entrance instead of they are taking cut off marks... Yesterday they have released cutoff marks am belongs to BC(others)community i got at 66.8 per at my college. Now they have announced 70 per for BC (others) And waiting list cutoff is 68 is there any possibilities to get seat.. In arts and science student easily they can score this mark but in engineering little bit tough is there any quota for engineering students in LLB 3 year program.

Hi Deviga, you can apply for LLB in the university provided you have scored at least 60% marks in your graduation degree. However, admission will get confirmed only on the basis of marks scored in Law Entrance Test conducted by the university. Following are the steps to apply:
