Manipal University (MU) B.Tech. Admissions 2020: Dates, Eligibility, Admission Process

Manipal University offers various courses in many streams like medicine, dentistry, engineering, pharmacy, hotel management, and communication.

University includes various courses at the undergraduate (UG) level in the field of engineering in its academic program. In B.E/B.Tech. the university offers 16 specializations.

To register the candidates must submit INR. 600/- as application fees along with the entrance test fee INR.1400/-. The fees can be submitted online via Debit/Credit card or Net banking.

Admission to B. Tech programs is through All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) followed by a counseling session. The counseling will be conducted according to the order of ranking in the merit list.

Eligibility criteria for the above-mentioned B. Tech. programmes is as follows:

Eligibility-

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

B. Tech. Lateral Entry

Duration: 3 Years

Eligibility-

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must possess 3 years diploma in engineering by the Board of Technical Examination of a State Government or passed B.Sc. degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 45% marks and 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject.


Application Process

BE/B.Tech

For admission, the candidates must apply for the Entrance test conducted by Manipal University.

The candidates can apply for admission through the official website-  apply.manipal.edu/mu.

  • To register, the candidates must first create their Log-in credentials.
  • Select the category.
  • Proceed to fill up the personal details.
  • Followed by the educational qualifications.
  • Upload the photograph and the signature.
  • Select the course and the test centre.
  • Verify the details.
  • Submit the application along with the fees.

Application Fees: INR 600/-
Entrance Fees: INR 1400/-

The fees can be paid through debit/credit card or net banking.

The candidates must upload the necessary documents, the university will verify the validity of the same and notify the candidates accordingly.

The Hall Ticket can be downloaded from the university’s official website. The hard-copy of the hall ticket must be produced at the time of test and counseling.


Selection Process

Admission will be based on merit, the candidates must appear for the Manipal Entrance Test. (MET)

  • The university will prepare a merit list based on the marks secured by the candidates in the MET.
  • The list will follow the order of ranking secured by the candidate.

Candidates will be called for counseling as per their names on the merit list.

The selected candidates must carry the following documents at the time of admission:

  • MET hall ticket
  • 10th and 12th standard mark sheet
  • Identity Proof (Aadhar/PAN card)
  • Passport size photographs

The candidates must pay the first installment of the total fees.


Reservation

15% of seats are reserved for international students under FN/NRI category.

Scholarships:

Following scholarships are given to deserving candidates which keep changing from time to time:

  • Scholarship for Academy of General Education Students
  • ITC Scholarship for BHM students and KADAMBI Scholarship
  • Scholarships for Konkani speaking students and AICTE Scholarship
  • Merit-cum-means Scholarship

Hostel:

  • 1st year UG students are provided with double/triple rooms only
  • Foreign/NRI students may reserve their rooms in advance while submitting their application forms.
  • University provides hostel rooms with all the facilities (study table, chair and cupboard, uninterrupted electricity, solar/electric heated water facility, water cooler with aqua-guard filters, common telephone, common TV room, common reading room, etc.) to all candidates.
  • Foreign nationals or Non-Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI Category.
