Manipal University is a deemed university established in 1956. It is located in Manipal, Karnataka and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The University offers various courses in many streams like medicine, dentistry, engineering, pharmacy, hotel management and communication.

The curriculum of the university includes various under graduate (UG) programmes, which are listed below:

Admission to the above mentioned programmes is merit based or through MDAT or MUOET. There is no entrance test for BASPL programme. Candidate can register by submitting the entrance fee of Rs. 1400/-.

Eligibility Criteria

Bachelor in Audiology and Speech - Language Pathology [BASLP]

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and English as compulsory subjects along with Mathematics or Biology as an optional subject with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and any one of the optional subjects.

B.Pharm

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and English with Mathematics or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology as optional subjects.

Age limit eligibility

  • Candidates who have date of birth as or before December 12, 1999 are eligible for the course.

B. Pharm. (Lateral Entry):

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must possess diploma in Pharmacy from institute recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India.

 

 

B.Sc

Programmes offered in B.Sc. courses:

Eligibility criteria for the above mentioned courses is as follows:

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and English with Biology or Biotechnology or Mathematics or any other Life Sciences subject as optional and minimum 55% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and any one of the optional subjects

BA

  1. Fashion Design
  2. Interior Design
  3. Media & Communication
  4. Culinary Arts

All the 4 courses mentioned above have the following eligibility criteria:

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with minimum 45% marks.

MBBS

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.

Age limit eligibility

Date of birth of the candidate should fall on or before January 01, 2000.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English and biology with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Health Information Administartion)

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must possess group of subjects in any Science/Arts/Commerce with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

 

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Medical Laboratory Technology)

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English and Biology with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Medical Imaging Technology)

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.

Bachelor in Medical Radiotherapy

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nuclear Medicine Technology)

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English and Biology or Mathematics as optional subjects with minimum 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and any one of the optional subjects.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Respiratory Therapy)

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or 3 years diploma by Central/State government from any board.

Bachelor of Optometry [B.Optom]

Application Process

BBA/BBM , B.Com & BA

  1. Candidate must fill the application form in his/her handwriting.
  2. Application form will be rejected if there is overwriting, stricking off or erasing anywhere in the form.
  3. Candidate must remmit the entrance fee through DD which should be drawn in favour of 'Manipal University' payable at Manipal or Udupi. Both application number and name should be mentioned on the back of DD.
  4. Candidates are not allowed to fold, staple or clip the form.
  5. Candidates must keep a copy of the filled application for future reference.

  2. Change of category from Foreign/NRI to General category after admission will not be entertained.
  3. Candidates are required to fill the application form online and upload photograph and copy of candidates’ signature.
  4. Candidates can register themselves by paying the application fees of amount Rs. 2000/- through Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
  5. Candidates can also register by sending DD of Rs.2000/- made in favour of Manipal University, payable at Manipal or Udupi at following address:

Selection Process

Bachelor of Optometry [B.Optom] , Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Perfusion Technology) & Bachelor of Physiotherapy [BPT]

  • Selection of General Category candidates in the courses like BPT/BOT/ B.PFT  is based on marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination
  • Selection of General Category candidates in the courses like B.Optom is based on marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics in the qualifying examination

Bachelor in Audiology and Speech - Language Pathology [BASLP]

  • Selection of General category candidates is based on the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics in the qualifying examination and for Foreign/NRI Category, selection will be based upon the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  • Selection of the candidate will be based on the merit list which is based on the 10 +2 marks in Mathematics and if two or more candidates obtain equal marks then selection will be based on the marks obtained in English and qualifying examination marks. 

Bachelor of Pharmacy [B.Pharm]

  • Selection of the candidates in the B.Pharm course is based on the basis of rank in All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MUOET).
  • Selection of the candidates in the B.Pharm (Lateral Entry) course is based on the marks in the qualifying examination.

Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Fashion Design) & Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Interior Design)

  • Selection of the candidates is based on the marks secured in Manipal University Design Aptitude Test (MDAT) conducted by Manipal University. Candidates must secure minimum 50 % marks in the qualifying exam in order to get admission in the course.

BA & MBBS

  • Selection of the candidates is based on the rank achieved in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MUOET).

Scholarship:

Following scholarships are given to deserving candidates in which changes are being made from time to time:

  • ITC Scholarship for BHM students and KADAMBI Scholarship
  • Scholarships for Konkani speaking students and AICTE Scholarship
  • Merit-cum-means Scholarship

Hostel:

  • 1st year UG students are provided with double/triple rooms only
  • Foreign/NRI students may reserve their rooms in advance while submitting their application forms
  • University provide hostel rooms with numerous facilities (study table, chair and cupboard, uninterrupted electricity, solar/electric heated water facility, water cooler with aquaguard filters, common telephone, common TV room, common reading room etc.) to all candidates
