Mumbai University (MU), Mumbai, Maharashtra is one of the first three universities set up in India.  Several private colleges in and around Mumbai are affiliated to MU. It has established its name in industrial & International collaborations and runs various professional courses. At national level, it has excelled in sports, cultural and out-reach activities. The University was accorded 5 star status in 2001 & 'A' grade status in April 2012 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has been granted University with Potential for Excellence (UPE) status by UGC and PURSE Scheme by DST.

In the last five years it has seen 104% increase in under-graduate students. The University of Mumbai is one of the largest universities in the world in terms of the number of students. More than eighty of its teachers are on various professional bodies. Moreover, eighteen National/International awards are won by teachers in the last five years.

The University invites applications for admissions to the LLB and BBA-LLB Programme for the academic year 2018-19. The BBA LLB is an integrated programme of 5 years whereas LLB programme is a three year course. The admissions to the two programmes takes place through MUCLET (Mumbai University Common Law Entrance Test) 2018 to be held on July 2nd, 2018 (tentative). The admission process starts from the first week of June, 2018 with the Applications available online on the website.

Eligiblity Criteria

Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] & Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] + Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] {Hons.}

You should have cleared the Class 12th examination from a recognized board with at least 45% marks for general category and 40% marks in case of reserved category.

Age: Youshould not be more than 20 years of age as on July 1st, 2018 (tentative).


How to Apply?

You can find the Application Form online on the University website.

You should download and take a print out of the Application form and fill it with the required details. You should then affix a passport size photograph in the space provided.

Application Fee: You should pay the following application fee through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Finance and Accounts Officer, University of Mumbai” payable at Mumbai issues by any Nationalized bank:

  • Rs. 2000 for general category
  • Rs. 1000 for reserved category

Your name and contact number should be clearly mentioned behind the Demand Draft.

Enclosures: You should submit the following documents along with the Application

  • 2 passport size photographs
  • Attested Copies of Mark sheet of SSC (10th or equivalent) & HSC [(10+2) or equivalent]
  • Attested Copy of Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Attested Copy of Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

You should attach two photocopies of certificate sets attested (by a Gazette Officer or Notary Public or Principal or Head of Educational Institution or a Nationalized Bank’s Manager).

You should send the Application Form with the required enclosures to the either of the following addresses:

Selection Process

Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] & Bachelor of Business Administration [BBA] + Bachelor of Laws [L.L.B.] {Hons.}

You will be selected on the basis of the MUCLET (Mumbai University Common Law Entrance Test) 2018. It is an all-India examination and your selection will be based on the merit rank obtained in this examination.

It would contain a total of 100 questions to be answered in two hours. The exam follows the pen-paper mode where answers should be marked using a black ball-point pen only. The entrance exam shall be conducted only in English Language.

The questions for MUCLET comprises of multiple choice questions from the areas such as Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical/Abstract Reasoning, and General Awareness.


Reservation Criteria

85% of the total seats will be reserved for student with domicile in the State of Maharashtra.

Hi Meghana, Every University has their own Rules and Regulation for this university i.e. You(candidate) should not be more than 20 years of age as on July 1st, 2018 (tentative).
