University of Mysore offers admission to Ph.D. degree in 5 faculties. The total intake for the Ph.D. degree is 390. Admission to the course will be based on the entrance examination and interview conducted by the university. Qualified candidate of UGC/CSIR/JRF Fellowships OR qualified for Lectureship through UGC/CSIR NET Examination / K-SET/ GATE or Government / Aided College Teachers under FIP will be exempted from the entrance examination.
Candidate holding a Masters degree in the relevant subject will be eligible for the entrance examination and further admission. Applications for Entrance Test are invited usually once a year and the entrance test is conducted generally during the month of September/ October. This exam will be held at Mysuru center only.
