University of Mysore M.Phil. Admissions 2019: Application, Eligibility, Fee

University of Mysore offers admission to the M.Phil programme under 5 disciplines. Admission to the course will be purely based on marks secured in the entrance examination conducted by the university. 

Postgraduate degree holders with 55% marks (50% marks) secured in the qualifying examination from a recognized university will be eligible for the admission. Application form will be available online on the official website of the university (http://uni-mysore.ac.in). The application fee must be paid through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card.

Eligibility Criteria

M.Phil. (Economics) , M.Phil. (English) & M.Phil. (Geography)

Course Wise Eligibility:

BotanyM.Sc. Botany/M.Sc. Applied Botany / M.Sc. plant Science or equivalent degree of any other University.
Computer SciencePostgraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks. In case of SC/ST/Cat-I candidates it is relaxed to 50%. Or equivalent grade in cognate subject from University of Mysore or any other recognized University.
ChristianityCandidates with a minimum of 55% marks in M.A. in Christianity from this or any other University recognized as equivalent.
KannadaPostgraduate degree in Kannada of this University or any other recognized University with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/Cat-I Candidates).
EconomicsMaster’s Degree in Economics/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ M.B.A/ M.Com/ B.E/ M.E/ M.Tech. with a minimum of 55%(50% minimum for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates)


Application Process

Application form can be filled online through the official website of University of Mysore.

  1. Visit the website of the university: http://uni-mysore.ac.in
  2. Go to the link “M.Phil Admission”
  3. Register through the mail id and contact number
  4. Enter asked personal information
  5. Type the academic details
  6. Upload scanned photo, signature and supporting documents
  7. Pay the application fee through Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card
  8. Submit the application form and take a print out of it

  • Transfer Certificate   
  • Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)   
  • Certificates for Special categories, if required     
  • Nativity Certificate if required     


Selection Process

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts , M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Commerce

  • Admission to M. Phil programme will be based on the marks secured in the entrance examination.
  • Qualified candidates will be called for document verification. 
  • Final selected students will be invited for payment of Admission fee.

  4. Community Certificate (For OC candidates community certificate not required)

Hi Rakesh, There is No viva for M.Phil, candidates will be selected on the basis of their marks in the qualifying merit /entrance examination followed by the counselling session.
