The filled form along with the required documents and a Demand Draft of INR 2500 is to be submitted to the Institute. Admission to the programme is done on the basis of entrance test. Those candidates who’ll satisfy the requirements of the Institute in the entrance test will be allowed to take admission to the course. Admission of such candidates is announced on the basis of Merit list released by the Institute. Test is conducted in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Pune. Eligibility: All graduates with a minimum of 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) are eligible for the M.Sc. programme.

  • Filled application form is to be sent along with a Demand Draft of INR 2500 drawn in favour of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, payable at Pune. Apart from the demand draft candidates are also required to send self attested copies of documents required for the admission.

NOTE: Application fee for reserved category candidates is INR 1250 and for foreign nationals is US$ 90.

Following are the self attested copies of documents to be sent along with the application form:

  2. Government authorised photo ID proof, which may be PAN/AADHAR/Passport/Driving License.
  3. Graduation marks sheet
  4. Transfer Certificate
  5. Migration Certificate

User Facts:

  • Reserved category candidates are required to submit their Domicile/Caste certificate as per the requirements.
  • Candidates belonging from Jammu and Kashmir are required to submit Domicile issued by the state government.
  • Physically handicapped candidates should submit certificate to get the privileges provided by the Institute.
  • OBC, SBC, NT candidates are required to produce a valid non creamy certificate.
  • At the time of admission candidates are required to submit the original documents for the verification process.

NOTE: No change in preference of specializations shall be entertained after the submission of application form.

Admission Process


Selection to M.Sc. programme is strictly made on the basis of entrance test of 120 minutes comprising of 100 objective type questions. A merit list will be prepared by the University on the basis of performance in the entrance test. Admissions will be considered on the basis of this merit list only.

User facts:

  • One fourth of marks will be deducted for every wrong answer made.
  • All admissions are to be made on the basis of entrance test, University has no management quota for the admission.
  • Medium for answering the exam is English and test centres are in the following cities:

Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata & Bengaluru 

  • Students giving exams at the Pune centre can also avail the facility of hostel accommodation on the payment of INR 350 per day.
  • In each specialisation, 2 seats are reserved for the candidates belonging form Jammu and Kashmir and 1 seat is reserved for handicapped students.
  • Merely the inclusion of name in the merit list is not sufficient for confirming the admission of candidates. They are required to submit the course fee in order to confirm their admission.
